If you're looking for a hotel that's convenient for exploring the sights of Athens, Art Suites Korai comes highly recommended. Housed in a quiet area but still in the heart of Athens city, this hotel is well-located within walking distance to tourist sites, restaurants, shops, bars and the metro. With an excellent location, it's literally a 15-minute walk right to the center of town. Plus, all of the obvious sites are a few minutes walk away and the hotel is at the edge of the National Archaeological Museum district which is a very walkable area.
However, some guests have expressed concerns about the surrounding area. While the hotel itself is well-maintained, some reviewers have mentioned that the neighborhood is unsafe, derelict and not very pleasant. They've reported encountering drug users, vagrants and prostitutes. Still, it's worth noting that the hotel is a short walk from National Archaeological Museum, Omonia Square and the Open Air Market in Monastiraki and a convenient base from which to explore the streets of Plaka and its restaurants and shops.
