Former Castle Resort
This prestigious castle hotel, known as Canada's "Castle in the Rockies", is placed in the centre of an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its construction began in 1887 and the hotel opened one year later. Despite the significant social and historical changes that were taking place, it always managed to offer signature experiences and luxury accommodation to all guests. This elegant castle hotel boasts 745 comfortable guest rooms and suites in earthy tones and provides all the high-level services that will offer a royal treatment.

Historic Resort
In 1887 William Cornelius Van Horne wanted to build an impressive hotel in the Canadian Rockies. The hotel was undergoing continuous renovations until the fire of 1926 where its wooden foundations were burnt down. A few years later, the hotel was rebuilt into a bigger castle and with a much more resilient structure. During the Great Depression, the hotel closed for 3 years and was reopened but struggled to reclaim travellers due to its location and the economic crisis. By the '70s, the hotel regained its glory thanks to the increasing influx of travellers in Banff. Today it is known as the prestigious "Castle in the Rockies".

Haunted Resort
Fairmont Banff Springs has the rumor of being haunted since guests report a ghost of a bellhop who disappears after helping them and it is believed, that it is the spirit of a former employee who died soon after he retired. Also, some guests report feeling a "freezing draft" on the staircase where once a bride fell to her death.

The food at the German restaurant was particularly delicious and the view at Essen im Waldhaus was phenomenal. There were also positive comments about the seafood pasta. Many guests appreciated the room size, comfort, cleanliness and modern amenities. The mountain view from some of the rooms is another highlight that guests enjoy. The luxurious toiletries and coffee provided by the hotel also received many compliments. Some guests did mention that they found the bathrooms too small or outdated and some rooms had a historic look and vibe. Still, the staff was accommodating and moved guests into newly renovated rooms. Some rooms were spacious, perfect for families, but others were too small for the price. However, some guests found their rooms to be basic or cold and some rooms had noise issues or needed updating. Overall, some guests felt the rooms were expensive for the size they got, but others found their rooms beautiful and luxurious with stunning views and excellent upkeep.
