Very Good

Location

Boar's Head Resort is located just outside of town, providing guests with a perfect balance between the countryside and easy access to Charlottesville. The resort is conveniently located nearby to local sites such as Monticello, vineyards, wineries and Shenandoah National Park. Guests can enjoy the beautiful location of the resort with lake scenery and great patio views. This location is particularly great for wine enthusiasts with easy access to wineries. The neighborhood is both sweet and central. Despite being close to everything in Charlottesville, getting around can be a bit of a nightmare. However, the location is overall fantastic with access to trails and being close to UVA. Keep in mind that some rooms may not be easily accessible for those with mobility needs.

Breakfast

If you're looking for a satisfying breakfast during your stay at Boar's Head Resort, you won't be disappointed. Guests rave about the fantastic breakfast served onsite. The buffet is especially good, featuring delicious options that are sure to please. However, some guests found the ordinary breakfast menu to be lacking in creativity and wished for more variety. The service can be slow at times, but the quality of the food more than makes up for it. Guests staying in the main building were disappointed that there weren't any breakfast options available there, but the Mill Room is a great spot for enjoying breakfast. Although a few guests didn't eat breakfast during their stay, those who did found it to be delicious. Admittedly, a minority of guests found the breakfast to be lackluster with flavorless food and burnt or overcooked eggs. But despite these few, negative reviews, the vast majority of guests found the breakfast to be great and we're sure you will too.

Boar's Head Resort has a variety of dining options with mixed reviews from guests. The Mill Room restaurant is highly recommended for its delicious food and cozy fireplace atmosphere. However, it can be difficult to get a reservation. Onsite dining is generally good and staff is accommodating. The Birdwood Grill had unsatisfactory dinner options. Room service ends early, leaving some guests to seek food elsewhere. Prices are a concern for some guests with some feeling that certain menu items are overpriced. Service can also be hit or miss with some guests experiencing poor customer service. Despite some negative reviews, the Mill Room is the standout dining experience at Boar's Head Resort.
