Barnsley House is nestled within a charming small village and guests can easily explore its surroundings by foot as there are various attractions within walking distance. Although there is nothing else in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, the beautiful grounds make up for it. However, some may find the scent of cows from the adjacent farm to be quite strong. Regardless, the hotel's location and garden are praised by guests as stunning with an exceptional pub nearby serving up a great atmosphere. Overall, those who stay at Barnsley House will appreciate the excellent and wonderful location, which heightens the atmosphere of their stay.

Breakfast

Barnsley House offers some of the best breakfasts you'll find during your stay in the Cotswolds. The restaurant serves a delicious selection of dishes, including some made with fresh produce from the hotel's own gardens. The staff are extremely attentive, creating a relaxed atmosphere to start your day. Although there were some differences due to Covid restrictions, the table service provided a good selection and guests could ask for extra if needed. Overall, the restaurant food is excellent and one of the best breakfasts you'll have during your trip. Although some guests found breakfast to be a little disappointing, the great selection on the menu more than made up for it.

Rooms

Barnsley House is a beautiful historic building with delightful rooms and exquisite attention to detail. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and guests particularly enjoyed the beautiful and comfortable garden suites. However, Room 3 was reportedly very noisy and some guests felt that the room sizes could be bigger. Nevertheless, the communal areas were lovely and the house itself was absolutely gorgeous. Despite some noise issues and slight size complaints, overall the rooms at Barnsley House were clean, comfortable and beautiful.

Guests consistently rave about the superb, friendly staff who go above and beyond to ensure their stay is the best it can be. The staff are exceptionally attentive and accommodating, even when things go wrong - they are quick to apologize and make amends. The waiters are described as happy, professional and consistently impress guests. Guests feel genuinely welcomed by the staff with many describing them as warm, bubbly and kind. Service is exceptional across the board with one review even stating that the staff and service were impeccable. Flo, the restaurant manager, is singled out for particular praise. Guests are left feeling truly grateful for the earnest efforts the staff make to ensure a memorable stay. In sum, the staff at Barnsley House are truly awesome - many thanks to all of them!
