The Galena Inn, formerly known as the Victorian Mansion, is a delightful historical home that boasts a perfect location for exploring downtown Galena. Visitors will love the convenience of being only a short walk away from the main shopping area and restaurants. Guests will appreciate the short walk downtown, which is only a 10-minute stroll from the property. The location couldn't have been any better and the best part is that the Inn is situated in a picturesque and convenient area; it's close to town but in a neighborhood setting. While hills prevented some guests from walking as much as they'd hoped, the location is still considered perfect and visitors can always drive to go anywhere else. In summary, the Galena Inn's location is one of its best features and it is an ideal destination for anyone looking to get a sense of Galena's vibrant downtown area.

Breakfast

The breakfast at Galena Inn formerly Victorian Mansion is a must-try for guests. With lots of great choices to eat, guests are treated to a delightful culinary experience every morning. The breakfast is served in a gorgeous room with a beautiful table setting that adds to the overall charm of the place. Guests can enjoy a range of dishes, including fresh fruit, bread, omelette, yogurt, bagels with toppings and even mimosas! The breakfast is exceptionally delicious and wonderful with avocado toast with ham and breakfast casserole being some of the favorites. Even vegetarians can enjoy the breakfast with dishes that were fitting for the era of the house. However, the breakfast is not included in the room rate and some guests found it to be a bit pricey. Nevertheless, most guests loved the breakfast and enjoyed it both mornings of their stay. The only downside was that due to short staff, breakfast was not available every day. Overall, the breakfast at Galena Inn formerly Victorian Mansion gets a thumbs up from the guests!

The beautiful main floor and private loft behind the main house are just two of the many impeccable features of this hotel. Guests were very pleased with the comfortable beds, huge TV with streaming service and beautiful bathrooms in all the rooms. The Julia Grant Suite and Roosevelt Room were among the favorites with their charming and romantic atmosphere. Although some rooms were small, they were still very cozy and welcoming. The hotel is a mix of vintage style with modern amenities, making for a truly beautiful and comfortable stay. Overall, this old mansion is well-maintained and is certainly a beautiful place to stay.

Kerrie, Paulina and Miranda were some of the standout team members who went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay. They were accommodating, solicitous and always ready to help with any request or question. The Innkeeper did a good job serving breakfast and Kerrie was very accommodating. The staff was also very informative and came by our table often to clear dishes. However, some guests have noted that wait staff is new. Although a few guests felt that the owner wasn't welcoming, the majority had nothing but positive things to say about the staff.
