Historic HotelThe mansion is said to have been built at around 1810 by Lazaros Kountouriotis, one of the most distinguished residents of the island, as dowry for his daughter. In 1901, the mansion was purchased by Kotommatis, a ship owner and successful sponge merchant at the time, whose name was also given to the hotel. He travelled extensively due to his job and brought back home antique furniture and art pieces that still exist today at the hotel, being part of its distinctive atmosphere and charm.
