While some have described it as organized and offering a "5-star service level," others have pointed out that it could benefit from updates and more equipment. The fitness room is noted to be small and can quickly become crowded with only a few machines available for use. Aqua aerobics, however, has received high praise, being described as top-notch. Hotel Ciucas in Tusnad is praised for its exemplary location in the heart of the picturesque town, surrounded by majestic mountains and fresh air. Guests appreciate the tranquil and scenic environment, highlighting the superb views, easy access to local attractions and the convenient proximity to the train station and parking facilities with elevator access.
The breakfast menu generally receives positive remarks for its variety, heartiness and quality, often being referred to as satisfying and delicious in a Swedish buffet style. Despite some criticisms regarding limited options and occasional shortages if arriving late, the overall dining experience at breakfast is favorable. The dinner also has its admirers for taste and quality, though opinions are divided due to the buffet style, perceived limited variety and higher cost.
Room cleanliness and space are consistent positives at Hotel Ciucas with many guests commending the sparkling clean accommodations and well-maintained facilities. However, room conditions vary with some parts of the hotel featuring new furnishings and spacious layouts, while others may have outdated furniture, compact bathrooms and minor issues such as musty smells and inconsistent modern amenities. Areas of improvement include soundproofing, better-performing AC units and bathroom renovations.
The staff at Hotel Ciucas are frequently acknowledged for their friendliness, kindness and helpfulness, contributing significantly to the guest experience. While there are occasional notes on the need for improved staff training and communication, the general sentiment leans towards a welcoming and professional service atmosphere.
The spa and pool facilities stand out for their cleanliness, varied amenities and well-maintained conditions with a particularly commendable large heated indoor pool. Guests enjoy the relaxing spa atmosphere, warm pools and family-friendly amenities like the children’s pool. Minor concerns include water temperature variations and selective pool availability, but these do not overshadow the overall positive feedback.
Parking is another appreciated feature with ample, supervised space and easy elevator access enhancing convenience for guests. Although some parking procedures could be clearer, the complimentary and secure parking experience is well-received.
The beds receive mixed feedback with mentions of clean bedding and extra pillows being available, but issues with hard and worn-out mattresses and bedding comfort could be addressed for a more consistent sleep experience.
Overall, Hotel Ciucas achieves a commendable standard for its three-star rating, although there are areas where it can improve to meet higher expectations. Its location, cleanliness, friendly staff and wellness amenities ensure a pleasant and restful stay for guests who appreciate these strong points.
