Very Good
Location
If location is your top priority when it comes to choosing a hotel, then you'll want to consider the Queen Kapiolani Hotel. This hotel is conveniently located just a two-minute walk from the beach and is near top tourist sights like Diamond Head and Waikiki Beach. Guests raved about the fantastic location with many noting that it was away from the hustle and bustle of the busiest parts of Waikiki, yet still conveniently located close to everything. The hotel is situated at the end of the Waikiki strip and many rooms offer stunning ocean views with beautiful sunsets. Guests praised the hotel's proximity to the beach, along with its convenience to shopping areas, restaurants and cafes. Overall, the property was highly rated for its location and its easy access to everything you want in a Hawaiian vacation.

Breakfast
The breakfast at Queen Kapiolani Hotel is a definite must-try according to guest reviews. The restaurant offers a good selection with standout dishes being the Japanese fluffy pancakes and coffee from Knots. The French toast is also recommended. Some guests suggest that including a breakfast package would be a great idea for the hotel to consider. For those looking for a quick breakfast, Knots Coffee Bar is a great option. However, some guests note that there could be more variety with the limited selection of pancakes and deep-fried items. The fully kitted out bar and cafe is a plus, but be aware that some tables may be in full sun during breakfast. While some guests lamented the lack of fresh tropical fruits or fish for breakfast, overall, the breakfast at the hotel's restaurant is a good option for guests looking to dine in. Keep in mind that some guests had negative experiences with the limited dining options and low quality food, along with the hotel's lack of complimentary coffee or water.

Dinner
When it comes to dining at Queen Kapiolani Hotel, opinions are mixed. While the pool lunch food service left something to be desired, the restaurant "Deck" received high marks from some guests. The restaurant boasted a beautiful ambiance, complete with a DJ and great food and service. In fact, for some guests, it was easily the best restaurant they tried during their stay. Others found the food and beverage service to be terrible on both occasions they dined at the hotel. Pricing for food on site was considered pretty expensive and the restaurant meals were below par for some. However, dinner at the hotel restaurant seemed to be a redeeming experience for some guests with the food earning high marks. Despite the mixed reviews, it seems the majority of guests agree that the restaurant "Deck" is worth a visit for its nice view and great food, even if it falls short of "excellent."

Rooms
The Queen Kapiolani Hotel offers a mix of dated and stylish rooms with some negative reviews about small size and outdated features in certain rooms. However, many guests had positive experiences with well-thought-out and clean rooms featuring comfortable beds, balcony and great views of the ocean or Diamond Head. The lobby and public areas are stylish, while the pool area could use improvement. Some rooms lack basic amenities like a kitchenette, microwave or in-room coffee maker. Guests were generally pleased with the cleanliness of the rooms and the hotel, although some reported issues like musty smells or stained carpets. Overall, the hotel offers adequate-sized rooms and bathrooms with good amenities, but some areas of the property could use updating.

Beds
If you're looking for a comfortable stay with cozy beds, Queen Kapiolani Hotel might be the hotel for you! Many guests found the beds very comfortable and cozy. The rooms are kept clean and comfortable and some even found the beds to be so comfortable that they had a great night's sleep. However, some guests mentioned that the beds were a little hard or uncomfortable with some experiencing lumpy or old mattresses. Additionally, some guests had issues with bed sizes not being as expected. Nevertheless, the spacious rooms and generally comfortable beds make Queen Kapiolani an excellent hotel choice.

Cleanliness
If you're looking for a hotel with top-notch cleanliness, the Queen Kapiolani Hotel is a great choice. The rooms are well kept, comfortable and daily room cleaning ensures everything stays pristine. The hotel itself is very clean and beautifully decorated with public areas and rooms being kept tidy. The cleaning staff does an amazing job, as everything is cleaner and brighter and the facilities are very well-maintained. The lobby is cool and spacious and the rooms are clean, bright and accessible. While some negative comments were made about a musty smell in one room and vaping in hallways, these were minor criticisms in otherwise exceptional reviews. Overall, guests highly appreciate the cleanliness of the hotel, rating it at a 10 out of 10.

Staff
If you're looking for a hotel with truly hospitable staff, look no further than the Queen Kapiolani Hotel! From the friendly and helpful front desk employees to the amazing housekeeping team, the staff is always ready and willing to assist you in any way possible. The reception and concierge services are also excellent, making for a smooth check-in experience. Even the valet parking staff go above and beyond to be super friendly and helpful! While there may be some staff members who seem distracted or unfriendly (like a few at the Deck restaurant), they are in the minority. Overall, the staff is lively, kind, courteous and well informed, making for a fantastic stay. The customer service and cleaning staff are particularly excellent and always willing to help with recommendations for places to eat or things to see. Special shoutouts to Samantha, the Activities Agent, Calvin, the elderly gentleman who checked our luggage and Sylvia from the Deck - they all truly embody the friendly and hospitable spirit of the staff at Queen Kapiolani. Plus, the location is just a 3 minute walk to the beach, making for an ideal stay.

Gym
Travelers looking for a hotel in Honolulu with a great fitness center should look no further than the Queen Kapiolani Hotel. This hotel boasts a very nice gym on the third floor that offers an array of modern machines and weights for a complete workout. Towels and a water fountain are also provided for guests' convenience. The gym is open 24 hours, making it perfect for early morning or late-night workouts. However, those who are sensitive to noise might want to request a room away from the gym as it can get a bit noisy in the morning. The only downside is that the gym does not have a hot tub, but other than that, guests were consistently pleased with the quality of the fitness center. So for travelers who want to stay fit while in Honolulu, the Queen Kapiolani Hotel is definitely worth considering.

Pool
The Queen Kapiolani Hotel boasts a lovely outdoor pool and pool deck that guests rave about. The large pool area offers a great spot to relax with towels easily accessible nearby. While some guests found the water to be too cold, others praised the great bar and restaurant situated by the pool for tasty bites and refreshing cocktails. Although some felt there weren't enough pool chairs for the size of the hotel and thought the area could use some work, many enjoyed the sweet pool location and view. Even though some didn't get a chance to try the on-site restaurant and pool, others loved the convenience of having the restaurant/bar/pool/deck area on the third floor. Overall, guests enjoyed the outdoor pool and commended the hotel's efforts to create a comfortable pool area.

Beach
The Queen Kapiolani Hotel boasts an incredible location for beach-goers with many confirmed guests highlighting its proximity to the ocean. The hotel is the perfect launching pad for beach time and is located just steps from Queens beach. It's also only a short walk from the main area and there are free beach towels, chairs and coolers available for guests. The ocean view and location are both amazing and guests have raved about being able to walk to the beach in just a few minutes. The hotel staff are phenomenal and the cherry on top is the fact that beach chairs and towels are provided free of charge. If you're looking for a great hotel close to everything, Queen Kapiolani is a perfect choice.

Parking
The Queen Kapiolani Hotel charges $50 a night for valet parking, which some guests found to be expensive. However, the valet staff were described as helpful and friendly. Some guests felt that the hotel charged for everything, including luggage storage, which they found to be ridiculous. Since parking is often considered a hassle in the area, some guests appreciated the convenience of valet parking. However, others wished there were more affordable parking options available or that they had been informed in advance that parking was not guaranteed. The cheapest overnight parking option suggested by some guests was at the nearby zoo.

4 Star
If you're looking for a four-star hotel that's also a great value, look no further than the Queen Kapiolani Hotel. Located in the heart of Waikiki, this hotel has recently been renovated and boasts a great restaurant and friendly staff. While some reviewers felt that the room quality didn't match the high price tag, most found the hotel to be a pleasant place to stay with superb views and an "old Hawaii" feel. The only downside was the $2 per piece luggage storage fee, which some felt was a bit cheap for a four-star hotel charging $300-$400 a night. Overall, however, guests had a great time and found the hotel to be clean, lovely and convenient. We would definitely book here again!
