The hotel is situated at the end of the Waikiki strip and many rooms offer stunning ocean views with beautiful sunsets. Guests praised the hotel's proximity to the beach, along with its convenience to shopping areas, restaurants and cafes. Overall, the property was highly rated for its location and its easy access to everything you want in a Hawaiian vacation.

The reception and concierge services are also excellent, making for a smooth check-in experience. Even the valet parking staff go above and beyond to be super friendly and helpful! While there may be some staff members who seem distracted or unfriendly (like a few at the Deck restaurant), they are in the minority. Overall, the staff is lively, kind, courteous and well informed, making for a fantastic stay. The customer service and cleaning staff are particularly excellent and always willing to help with recommendations for places to eat or things to see. Special shoutouts to Samantha, the Activities Agent, Calvin, the elderly gentleman who checked our luggage and Sylvia from the Deck - they all truly embody the friendly and hospitable spirit of the staff at Queen Kapiolani. Plus, the location is just a 3 minute walk to the beach, making for an ideal stay.

This hotel boasts a very nice gym on the third floor that offers an array of modern machines and weights for a complete workout. Towels and a water fountain are also provided for guests' convenience. The gym is open 24 hours, making it perfect for early morning or late-night workouts. However, those who are sensitive to noise might want to request a room away from the gym as it can get a bit noisy in the morning. The only downside is that the gym does not have a hot tub, but other than that, guests were consistently pleased with the quality of the fitness center. So for travelers who want to stay fit while in Honolulu, the Queen Kapiolani Hotel is definitely worth considering.

The hotel staff are phenomenal and the cherry on top is the fact that beach chairs and towels are provided free of charge. If you're looking for a great hotel close to everything, Queen Kapiolani is a perfect choice.

Parking

Some guests felt that the hotel charged for everything, including luggage storage, which they found to be ridiculous.
