Location
Killaloe Hotel & Spa has been highly praised by guests for its stunning location. Situated in a tranquil and beautiful place, the hotel is in walking distance of Killaloe village, where guests can explore the many pubs, restaurants and activities on offer. The views from guests' bedrooms have been described as just wonderful and the lovely grounds received special mention. For hiking enthusiasts, the hotel is located right beside Moylussa and for those who want to explore the area by car, there are plenty of car parking spaces out the front of the hotel. Although a bit out of the way, the hotel's central location and interesting scenery provide convenient access for driving. Killaloe itself is described as beautiful by many guests and the small walk into town is only around 20 minutes. Overall, the lovely small cosy hotel has a great location and is situated in a very good place, providing guests with a brilliant location for an enjoyable stay.

Breakfast
The breakfast at Killaloe Hotel & Spa gets a mixed review from guests. While some describe it as delicious, fab, superb, divine, exceptional and excellent with great food, lovely presentation and a generous menu, others found it very poor, inedible and with very few choices for a four-star hotel. Some guests praised the good-sized twin rooms with all the facilities you'd expect in a good hotel, while others complained about the slow breakfast service or the inattentive service from waitresses. The breakfast was included in some rates and was described as plentiful and fresh, while others felt it was a minimum with burnt toast and stale pastries. Despite the mixed reviews for breakfast, the hotel's amazing spa, lovely location and good quality food for dinner received positive mentions.

Dinner
The Killaloe Hotel & Spa boasts an on-site restaurant that definitely has mixed reviews from guests. Some found the restaurant and bar to be quite expensive while others found the food to be lovely and excellent. The deserts and breakfast were exceptional, but some felt that starters and main meals were not of high quality. Some also complained about the service – experiencing long waits for tables, the receptionist not asking if they wanted to book dinner and poor service in the restaurant. However, others had a great experience with the food and service in the restaurant. One guest described the food as incredible from breakfast to dinner with eggs benedict and battered fish and chips being standouts. Despite some negative feedback, the dinner was described as beautiful and fantastic by others. It was noted that on one occasion, the lamb chops were undercooked. In general, the evening meals and breakfast were found to be good and nicely presented. A few guests found the food to be basic or not good at all, however, one guest described the food as "ausgezeichnet" (excellent). Overall, there seems to be a mixed experience with the on-site restaurant at Killaloe Hotel & Spa.

Rooms
The Killaloe Hotel & Spa is a comfortable and clean hotel with spacious rooms that offer great views of Lough Derg, the river and the mountains. The beds are large and comfortable, making for a great night's sleep. However, some rooms might need an upstyle and have wear and tear. The bathrooms are generally nice but some could be cleaner or have dated tiling. The private terrace advertised in one deluxe king room was small and not private, which was a disappointing experience for some guests. The hotel has good facilities like a coffee machine in some rooms and a rainforest shower in others. Some guests encountered issues like noisy plumbing or smells in friends' rooms. The instructions to room location could be clearer and the keys are old-fashioned. The hotel decor was generally tasteful but some guests found certain pictures or wear and tear in some areas to be off-putting. Despite these minor issues, the hotel is a lovely place to stay with comfortable rooms and beds, making for an enjoyable experience.

Beds
According to guest reviews, the beds at Killaloe Hotel & Spa are described as fabulous, huge and incredibly comfortable. The linens are also highly praised for their comfort. Many guests specifically mention the comfort of the mattresses with one guest describing it as super soft. The rooms are also highly rated for their comfort with nice bathrooms and very comfortable beds. The hotel is also noted for having a great size bed and comfy beds throughout the hotel. Overall, guests highly recommend Killaloe Hotel & Spa for a comfortable and relaxing stay.

Cleanliness
Killaloe Hotel & Spa, located in the beautiful countryside of Ireland, is a lovely hotel that offers a very comfortable stay. Numerous guests have praised the hotel for being very clean with some using the term 'lovely and clean'. However, a few guests found the bathroom to be a bit dated and could have been cleaner. Guests can expect a comfy bed and overall comfortable stay. The hotel grounds may be small, but they are tastefully maintained. While some areas could use more attention, such as dusting and cleaning smelly bathrooms, the hotel is generally very clean and well looked after. The staff are described as efficient and friendly during the check-in process. Guests particularly enjoyed their warm and pleasant rooms. The dining area is clean, but some guests found a glass top table that needed a good wash. Dining at the hotel is slightly old-fashioned with poor food, but there are several other dining options available in the town. However, one guest found the bedroom to be 'very disgusting and not clean at all', so if this is a concern, it may be worth checking with the hotel in advance. Overall, the Killaloe Hotel & Spa offers a clean and comfortable stay in a beautiful location.

Many guests have gone out of their way to mention individual staff members who stood out as exceptional, including Linda behind the bar, Ellen, Vanessa and the girl serving breakfast. The hotel's staff is incredibly welcoming, professional and accommodating, making you feel at home away from home.

Spa
Killaloe Hotel & Spa boasts an excellent spa with a range of treatments available that guests highly recommend. However, some guests found it challenging to schedule appointments with some waiting up to two months. Some guests also reported difficulty in getting in touch with the spa either by phone or email. Unfortunately, some guests arrived only to find out the spa was closed. For those who did get to visit the spa, they found the staff to be friendly and professional and the treatments they received were excellent. However, some felt the seating areas could be more comfortable for nighttime relaxation. Overall, those who loved the spa found it to be amazing and mentioned various treatments they enjoyed, including meditation with a lovely lady at the Sionna spa.

It's one of the nicest hotels that many have experienced and would love to return to. The hotel is highly recommended by former guests who appreciate the good quality of their facilities and services, although some would prefer greater choice for a four-star hotel.
