Location
The Celtic Manor Resort is a fantastic destination that offers first-class facilities and beautiful surroundings. Guests loved the different bars the resort has to offer for a drink after a lovely meal in one of the outstanding restaurants. Some also appreciated the shuttle bus service which made it easy to access around the resort. While snow disrupted planned golf, guests will definitely come back to experience the fine position when weather permits. Location-wise, the resort is considered to be one of the most beautiful places guests have ever stayed in and some even appreciated the convenient location near motorways with plenty of car parking. However, one guest mentioned that the resort is located in the wrong area of South Wales. Overall, The Celtic Manor Resort is easily accessible and it's a great place to stay for those seeking a good location with lovely surroundings.

Breakfast
Guests have a range of opinions on the breakfast at The Celtic Manor Resort. Some describe it as excellent, amazing, lovely, great, very good and with lots of selection. There are also positive comments about the good variety of options and buffet meals. However, others had complaints about the cold temperature, noise and presentation not being as expected for the price. Additionally, some guests found the food in the Olive Tree Restaurant to be just okay and had to wait for replenishments. Nonetheless, many visitors booked breakfast and enjoyed the experience with one calling it a "wonderful spread." Overall, the bars and restaurants offer lovely breakfast options with Stea at Six being particularly delightful. Guests can also enjoy lovely cocktails at Merlyns Bar.

Dinner
The Celtic Manor Resort offers a variety of dining options for their guests but based on the reviews, some restaurants are not up to par. The Olive Tree restaurant seems to have mixed reviews with some guests finding the food and price reasonable while others thought the food was disappointing and not hot enough. The buffet dinner at The Olive Tree seemed to be a letdown with cold and flavorless curry dishes. The Pad and golf club restaurant were also criticized for not meeting guests' expectations. However, The Grill and Rafters restaurant received good reviews from some guests. The price of food seems to be a common complaint with some finding it unnecessarily overpriced. There were also some operational issues with guests waiting for their drinks, food replenishment and slow service. The room service food also received mixed reviews with some finding the food pleasant but not amazing while others found the food cold and soggy. Finally, guests found it frustrating that they had to pre-book everything in advance, leaving no room for spontaneity. Despite some negative reviews, there were positive comments about the food and atmosphere of the resort's restaurants, particularly The Grill.

Rooms
Guest reviews of The Celtic Manor Resort offer mixed feedback on the rooms. Some highlight the comfortable, clean and spacious rooms with lovely views and luxurious touches. However, others complain of tired decor, outdated facilities and cleanliness issues such as ripped chairs, chipped or cracked bathroom fixtures and dust or dirt. Some guests reported issues with ventilation and plumbing, while others noted missing amenities such as trouser presses or hairdryers. Despite these shortcomings, many guests found their rooms to be comfortable and well-presented and some even received complimentary upgrades or had access to exclusive lounges. Overall, while there are some areas in need of improvement, there are certainly nice rooms to be found at The Celtic Manor Resort.

Beds
The Celtic Manor Resort offers its guests the ultimate in sleeping comfort. Guests rave about the exceptional comfort of the beds with many describing them as "comfy" and "very comfortable". There is even the option to choose from a selection of pillows, although some guests did find them too hard and heavy. One guest particularly enjoyed their bedroom, highlighting the great bed size and bathroom, which was done out in stunning, expensive marble. The resort understands the importance of a good night's sleep with blackout curtains provided to ensure an amazing sleep, even for those who don't normally sleep very well. While a few guests did report some discomfort with their beds, for the most part, guests are raving about the comfortable beds at The Celtic Manor Resort.

Cleanliness
Guests at The Celtic Manor Resort have mixed reviews about the cleanliness of the hotel. While many praised the hotel for being spotlessly clean, others were disappointed with their rooms, which they described as dusty, not as clean as expected or even very dirty. Some guests noted specific issues like broken toilets, filthy ice buckets and stains on carpets, while others mentioned more general cleanliness issues like dust, stains and flaky paint. Overall, guests had varying experiences with the hotel’s cleanliness, but many agreed that the rooms, while comfortable, could use a higher standard of cleaning. Additionally, some guests mentioned that they would have appreciated coat hooks and newspapers and that staff could have been more communicative. Nevertheless, many guests enjoyed the hotel's clean, modern atmosphere and lovely rooms.

Staff
The staff at The Celtic Manor Resort are a mixed bag. While some guests rave about the friendly and helpful service, others were disappointed with the unprofessional and rude behavior of staff members. Some guests felt that more trained staff were needed, particularly at the front desk and pool. However, there are stand-out members of staff who went out of their way to support guests and provide exceptional service. Despite a few hiccups, many guests found the staff to be friendly, accommodating and professional. Overall, the staff behavior had a significant impact on the guest experience with guests appreciating the excellent service and polite and courteous staff, while others had complaints about terrible management and slow service.

Spa
The Celtic Manor Resort is a fantastic hotel with a lovely spa that guests have enjoyed. However, due to high demand, spa treatments may be fully booked, but the facilities are great and well-equipped. Some guests had trouble using the facilities because they were busy or had limited access, but those who were able to enjoy them found them to be excellent. Unfortunately, some guests were unable to use spa facilities with their partners due to gender restrictions and an area in the women's spa was closed. Breakfast was good, but some guests found it difficult to get coffee and cake unless they booked afternoon tea. Despite minor inconveniences, the spa facilities received great reviews from guests, who found them to be enjoyable, amazing and relaxing. However, some guests found that the spa was outdated and full of noisy children. Overall, the Celtic Manor Resort spa is a great place to unwind and enjoy some leisure time during your stay.

Pool
Guests rave about the spa and pool at The Celtic Manor Resort with many complimenting the warm water and amazing jacuzzi. The leisure facilities are also mentioned with one guest recommending them highly. However, some reviewers note that the staff at the pool could use some training. The pool area itself is described as lovely with a beautiful ceiling and views, but it can get quite busy. Some guests found it a hassle to have to book slots for leisure facilities, but appreciate the option to do so through the resort's app. While some reviewers mention having booked the pool and food assuming it was at the resort, overall guests seem to enjoy the pool and its facilities.

Parking
Guests of The Celtic Manor Resort have mixed feelings about the parking options at this hotel. While there are plenty of car parking options available, some guests find it quite expensive to park overnight with charges ranging from £8.50 for an outside car park to a steep £20 for on-site parking. Some guests feel that having to pay for parking on top of their stay is unfair and extreme, particularly when staying overnight as a guest of the hotel. Others feel that the parking fees are ridiculous given that the hotel is located out of the way and guests really need a vehicle to get around. While some guests appreciate the plentiful parking options, others feel that the car park is a long, dark walk away from the building and that it can be frustrating to have to keep re-entering hotel details every time they want to park or retrieve their car. There is also a £50 deposit that some guests are not happy about. Overall, while there are some affordable parking options available, guests should be aware of the additional fees they may incur when staying at The Celtic Manor Resort.

Family
The Celtic Manor Resort is an ideal place for families looking for an enjoyable stay with plenty of choices for places to eat. The family rooms and superior rooms offer comfortable accommodation for guests. Although there were bits left, the hotel staff, especially the concierge men, were brilliant and helped out in any way possible, taking the pressure off disabled guests and their families. However, younger children may not find enough activities tailored to their age group as there is not too much to do for little children. The spa, whilst an attractive option for child-free time, was quite dated and full of kids screaming. On the other hand, there were lots of activities offered making it perfect for family getaways with lots to do for the children. Guests would have preferred leisure facilities opened at their convenience rather than restricted hours. Overall, it's a lovely option for those seeking a night away from the kids or a perfect family holiday.

5 Star
The Celtic Manor Resort is an exceptional five-star hotel, offering luxury and a range of fantastic facilities and services. Guests have noted that the hotel meets the high expectations of a five-star rating with exceptional service and a luxurious feel. Some reviewers did mention the need to recapture the specialness of the resort, highlighting that it needs to stand out from being just another expense. Despite this, guests were thoroughly impressed with the range of services available, including complimentary water in the rooms. Although some felt that the hotel was more like a B&B, the general consensus is that the hotel is absolutely fantastic and highly recommended. Overall, The Celtic Manor Resort is a must-visit for anyone looking for five-star luxury.

Luxury
The Celtic Manor Resort is a 5-star hotel with great facilities perfect for a relaxing and luxurious stay. The hotel boasts exceptional quality with a luxury feel, beautiful decor and stunning features. The surroundings are also luxurious and breathtaking. However, some guests did mention that they felt the hotel lacked that extra little bit of attention to detail that defines a true 5-star luxury experience. Additionally, some guests felt that with the high prices they paid, they did not receive the experience they were expecting. All of the food and drinks were expensive with cocktails starting at £15, but some guests found the experience to be worth the cost. Despite these minor issues, the majority of guests found the hotel to be very luxurious and enjoyable.
