Very Good

Location

Retallack Resort & Spa is a beautiful resort in a picturesque setting with amazing views of the lake. The resort is located in a quiet, central position in Cornwall, making it an excellent base for exploring the area with many attractions nearby. However, the location is a little bit away from shops and food places and it may be hard to find in the dark due to tiny signs and a lack of road lights. Despite this, it was enjoyed by guests who found the location good for their requirements and for lots of coastal trips with some even considering it a perfect location. The resort also offers a great location for a short stay whilst walking the SW Coast Path. The apartments on the property are modern, clean and comfortable with excellent lake views. Overall, the location of the resort is fantastic and provides an excellent setting for a family gathering or a romantic getaway.

Dinner

Guests seemed to have mixed feelings about the on-site restaurant at Retallack Resort & Spa. Some found the food to be delicious and well-organized, while others thought it was below expected quality, bland and overpriced. One guest even resorted to having crisps and drinks because the restaurant was only open from 4 pm. Some guests also experienced unhelpful staff and a lack of main meal options with the restaurant being predominantly focused on pizza. Others had a great experience with nice food, but it seems the restaurant may not have been open consistently during their stay. Those who did manage to dine there found it to be expensive with some commenting on the high cost of wine. Overall, it seems that guests had varying experiences with the restaurant, but the resort as a whole was great value for money.

Despite experiencing issues with their reservation upon arrival, families reported that the spacious apartments provided ample room for their needs. The family-friendly resort has plenty to keep all ages occupied, including geese to marvel at, activities tailored to teenagers and infant-friendly amenities. The huge family kitchen/family room is perfect for family gatherings, while the bag of gifts for dogs shows that everyone, including pets, is welcome. With excellent facilities and friendly staff, it is no surprise that multiple guests have already planned return trips with either family or friends.

Rooms with Jacuzzi / Hot-Tub

Retallack Resort & Spa offers guests the chance to enjoy a host of luxurious amenities, including the highly sought-after feature of a hot tub in your room. While some guests reported difficulties with lifting the heavy lid of the hot tub, others appreciated the incredible view of the river that their hot tub afforded them. Even when there were issues with the hot tub, the staff were quick to respond, sending an engineer to fix the problem. Some guests specifically requested a villa with a hot tub, while others simply loved the addition of the jacuzzi. The pool area does not currently have a jacuzzi, but there are hot tubs located on the deck and in some rooms. Other amenities, such as a pool table, were also enjoyed alongside the hot tub. While there were some reports of the hot tub not being ready or the jets not working, for the most part guests found the hot tub to be immaculate and in an excellent position. However, emptying the hot tub came with some downsides, such as flooding the access way into and out of the room.
