Location
Sossusvlei Lodge is a must-stay location for those visiting the Namib-Naukluft National Park specifically the Sossusvlei. Guests are in awe of the lodge's stunning location literally right at the entrance of the park and the Deadvlei. It's the perfect location for a romantic getaway with its lovely oasis in the midst of the desert atmosphere. The lodge provides a breathtaking view of the vast plains and water areas from the rooms with grazing oryxes just outside the door. The lodges' location and atmosphere are fantastic and already an experience in itself. It's the best location for those who want to get to Sossusvlei early in the morning, as the park entrance is just a stone's throw away. Although some rooms are situated outside, guests are still more than pleased with the overall location and ambiance of the lodge.

Breakfast
If you're looking for a great breakfast to start your day off right, Sossusvlei Lodge won't disappoint! Guests rave about the "great variety" and "good size" of the breakfast buffet with "lots of thoughtful options and very tasty" dishes. The dinner buffet also receives high praise for being "very nice" and "excellent." While a few reviewers suggest that the breakfast could be more innovative or have more fresh fruit, most are pleased with the "sehr reichhaltige Auswahl" (very rich selection) of breakfast foods available. The only potential downside is that some guests report long lines for omelettes at breakfast. Overall, if you're looking for a delicious and filling breakfast before exploring the nearby national park, Sossusvlei Lodge has got you covered!

Dinner
Sossusvlei Lodge offers a diverse and delicious dinner buffet with fresh grilled specialties cooked on four different braai stations. The atmosphere during dinner is wonderful, especially under the stars. The staff are nice and helpful and the food is exceptional with lots of good options. There is also a great selection at the dessert and salad buffet. However, it is recommended to reserve a table away from the crowd in advance to avoid the noise. Though there were some complaints about the quality or wait times for certain dishes, the majority of guests highly enjoyed the meals, which included wild meat such as Kudu and Antelope. Breakfast and dinner at the hotel were also very nice and some referred to the buffet as the best they had experienced in Namibia. Overall, the lodge is a great accommodation for those looking to visit Sossusvlei and enjoy a tasty dinner under the stars.

Rooms
Sossusvlei Lodge offers guests beautifully designed and well-equipped rooms in individual cottages, some with views of the stunning desert landscape. The lodgings are spacious, functional and comfortable, incorporating modern safari-style decor. The bathrooms are also large and well-appointed. Rooms are very clean and offer fridges as well as tea and coffee making facilities. Some chalets have their own terraces to enjoy the sunset sky and the lodge is situated in lovely surroundings. There are different types of rooms available with the standard located on the outskirts of the lodge in a beautifully designed garden with plants and trees. However, some guests have reported that the decor feels like that of a military hospital and views from the room are of other utilitarian looking buildings. While the lodge offers comfortable and clean rooms, some have reportedly experienced issues such as limited air conditioning, a foul smell from the bathroom, power outages or mosquito infestations. Despite some criticisms, Sossusvlei Lodge is a great choice for those wanting a comfortable stay in the heart of the desert wilderness with outstanding accommodations and fantastic views.

Beds
Sossusvlei Lodge offers fantastic accommodation that satisfies the needs of its guests. The bedrooms are spacious and clean, equipped with large bathrooms for an enjoyable stay. Though some guests encountered issues such as the absence of blackout curtains and noisy air conditioning units, this was outweighed by the well-appointed and comfortable beds. Many guests praised the good quality of the beds and sheets, ensuring a restful night’s sleep. While some guests found the seating in the bedroom less comfortable, overall, the beds were deemed comfortable and conducive to a good night's rest. Unfortunately, some guests found the mattresses too soft or worn, while others wished for mosquito nets. However, it seems that the majority were content with the beds provided, making Sossusvlei Lodge an excellent hotel for a comfortable night's sleep.

Cleanliness
Sossusvlei Lodge has been praised for its exceptional cleanliness by guests. The rooms are described as very nice and clean with comfortable amenities. The lodge is well maintained and the surroundings are also kept very clean. The buffet breakfast and food received positive reviews. Guests did mention some drawbacks like the pool being dirty and the breakfast not meeting expectations, however overall the cleanliness was outstanding. Foreign guests also highlighted the cleanliness of the rooms in their native languages.

Staff
The staff at Sossusvlei Lodge receive high praise from guests for being friendly, accommodating and helpful. Some guests even went as far as to say that the entire staff was superb. The restaurant staff is described as friendly, while the reception staff is mostly professional, but some guests encountered rude staff at the front desk. The guides are knowledgeable and informative and the adventure team is very good. However, some guests noted that staff training in customer service would be helpful, as not all staff members were consistently friendly or attentive. Despite this, the staff is generally described as warm and welcoming, creating a pleasant atmosphere for guests. Overall, guests recommend the tours and activities arranged by the staff, such as the morning and evening dune tours and highlight the helpfulness and kindness of specific team members, such as the guide named Enos.

Wi-Fi
Guests at Sossusvlei Lodge have noted that the Wi-Fi is only available in public areas such as the restaurant and reception and not in guest rooms. While some guests have experienced unstable connections or poor signal, others note that the connection in the main building is very good. Despite some issues, there are positive comments about the Wi-Fi with guests stating that it works well in certain areas and is "bon" or good. Overall, while guests may experience some limitations with the Wi-Fi at Sossusvlei Lodge, it is not a major problem and should not detract from a pleasant stay.

Pool
Guests have mixed opinions about the pool area at Sossusvlei Lodge. Some guests describe the pool area as beautiful, refreshing and clean while others mention that it was small, not well-maintained, murky and lacked loungers and shade. However, many guests enjoyed the view from the pool and the Oryx sightings from the nearby tower. The restaurant even had a lit waterhole where wildlife could be seen drinking. Despite the varying opinions, the pool area is still considered to be a nice amenity of the lodge.

Luxury
When seeking the ultimate luxury experience in the heart of the desert, Sossusvlei Lodge is the clear choice. Located just outside the national park, guests can bask in the opulence of this pristine estate. With a carefully manicured property, it's clear that Sossusvlei Lodge strives to deliver the very best. Some guests mention that the lodge has room for some improvement, but overall, most reviews rave about the luxurious stay. This hotel is the perfect place to indulge in a little desert oasis with its top-notch amenities and impressive facilities. Whether you're seeking a professional experience or prefer a more personal touch, Sossusvlei Lodge has everything you could desire, including excellent equipment and convenient access to the Namib-Naukluft National Park and its beautiful Deadvlei.
