What is the history of the property? Venetian private patrician mansion built in the 1600, it acted as the Russian embassy until 1789 at the end of the Venetian Republic. After Venice was not a capital city anymore, still kept bonds to Russia as Russian Consulate. Converted to one of the first "Pensione" in Venice at the end of the 40s after the 2nd world war, among the other welcomed the literature Nobel Prize Josif Brodsky.
What was the era and/or the architectural style in which the property was built? The building is from the 17th century and reflects the architectural style of the typical Venetian palace of the time being.
Is the property surrounded by other historic buildings? The property is situated in the historic town of Venice, therefore is indeed surrounded by ancient buildings and canal in a setting that can almost be defined as an open-air museum.
Has restoration work taken place? The property invests yearly in restoration works. Lastly, bathrooms were renovated and the façade was repainted.
