Although secluded, the hotel is not too far away from other attractions like Santa's Village and Lancaster. The view from the property is amazing with mountains and beautiful hills surrounding you. Overall, the Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa is a superb location with great experience in beautiful surroundings.

Breakfast
Guests of the Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa have mixed reviews regarding the breakfast options. While some found the meals to be absolutely delicious and excellent, others had breakfast problems and fiascos. Breakfast buffet was either good or excellent according to the guests. Although some found the cost to be too high or expensive, some enjoyed the meals in the resort restaurant and Harvest Tavern, stating that all meals were great. The limited vegetarian options at breakfast caused inconvenience to some guests. The Christmas brunch and July 4th barbecue were highly recommended. Guests suggest an earlier start time for breakfast and the addition of grab-n-go or pastries at the resort. Although there were some breakfast problems, guests could receive free breakfast packages. Ultimately, the food was generally delicious and satisfying for most guests.

Dinner
Guests at the Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa have had mixed experiences with the hotel's dining options. While some praised the delicious food at Harvest Tavern and had amazing meals at the wine cellar dinner, others found the restaurant options to be limited and overpriced. Some even had poor experiences, such as waiting over two hours for dinner and finding the food to be mediocre, salty or even uneatable. Diners recommend making dinner reservations well in advance and note that the hotel's restaurant can be sold out. Outdoor seating was a particularly memorable experience for lunch, but some guests found the dining experience to be poor overall. Prices were steep, but exceptional service from the staff was a highlight. Despite some complaints, many guests enjoyed the meals with delicious food cooked to perfection, including sirloin, shrimp cocktail and mushroom pizza, as well as a chocolate mousse dessert. Vegetarian options were also available. Overall, while the cuisine could have been better and the options were limited, guests had good food and drinks at the hotel, especially at the bar.

Rooms
The Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa offers a range of room options, from colonial vibes to spacious, modern choices. Guests rave about the comfortable beds, although some complain they're a bit creaky. Some rooms have mini-fridges, but not all and there are no microwaves or Keurigs in the rooms. The bathrooms and closets in many rooms are massive and several offer stunning unobstructed views of the White Mountains. Some travelers feel the rooms are a bit small or outdated, but those who appreciate history find the accommodations delightfully appointed with a well-decorated sense of the hotel's rich past. There are some cleanliness issues, including dusty and dirty rooms, stained bedding and broken furniture. Overall, this is a beautiful property where guests can relax and enjoy amazing views, but some rooms may be smaller or less comfortable than expected at the expensive room rate.

Beds
The Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa has received mixed reviews regarding their beds. Some guests found the beds to be uncomfortable, either due to being too soft or having creeky bases. However, there were also many positive comments about the beds with some describing them as super comfortable and extremely cozy. Some guests also found the king beds to be a great feature of the hotel. In terms of room size, some guests found the rooms to be on the smaller side which impacted their sleeping experience. One guest pointed out that the bed was too high for them and another mentioned the mattress being old and lumpy. Overall, the hotel seems to have received mixed reviews in regards to the beds, but there were still many guests who found them to be comfortable and enjoyable.

Cleanliness
The Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa offers a clean and relaxed atmosphere perfect for a peaceful getaway. Guests rave about the phenomenal and spotless facilities, giving high praise to the well-maintained grounds and beautiful property. Additionally, many guests noted the clean and spacious rooms with comfortable bedding and everything needed right on site. However, there were a few negative comments about cleanliness with some guests stating that the hotel was VERY dirty and not properly cleaned. There were reports of blood stains on bedding and mold in the shower, as well as instances of dirty dishes and uncaring staff. Despite this, the majority of the reviews praised the cleanliness of the hotel, making it a great choice for a relaxing and clean vacation.

While some had a less-than-stellar experience with certain staff members, the majority praised the friendly and helpful nature of the staff throughout the resort, from the front desk to bartenders and waitstaff. Many guests specifically mentioned outstanding service from individuals such as Lisa, Melanie and Garcia. COVID-19 has limited staffing, but the team has still managed to go above and beyond in providing great customer service. Some guests did encounter staff who were unhelpful or lacked training, but these instances were the exception rather than the rule. Overall, the staff at Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa created a pleasant and welcoming environment for guests to enjoy.

Spa
If you are looking for a luxurious and relaxing spa experience during your stay at Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa, look no further. From amazing couples massages at the Tower Spa to fabulous massages for individuals, guests just loved their day in the spa. The spa is highly recommended by guests as it is wonderful, lovely and even had a family vibe. Others were satisfied with the nice spa and found the money spent on services worth it. However, some guests were unable to use the spa due to weddings, which were also happening on-site. Regardless, the resort offers plenty of activities for adults and children to enjoy. Unfortunately, a few guests had an unpleasant experience interacting with the spa supervisor and spa director. Overall, if relaxation and indulgence are on your itinerary, a trip to Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa's spa is highly recommended.

Pool
The Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa boasts nice outdoor and indoor pools, although some guests were disappointed that the indoor pool was closed during their stay. The outdoor pool was described as a great spot to relax and unwind, although some reviewers noted that the water was green or too cold. Despite some maintenance issues, such as bees and flies near the pool area, guests generally had a good pool experience. The pool area itself could use some work and more lounge chairs, as guests reported fighting over limited seating options. One downside was that the outdoor pool was closed for a wedding without prior notice, but overall the pool facilities and surrounding veranda were enjoyable. Just be prepared to wait for the lone elevator in the busy resort.

Family
Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa is the ideal place for young families looking to make memories together. It's more geared towards families than just adults and there are plenty of family-friendly amenities to enjoy. The separate family rooms make it easy for parents and kids to have their own space and the reasonably priced kids meals are a nice touch. The staff does an excellent job of making families feel comfortable, welcome and relaxed. The resort is great for family gatherings with lots of activities for the entire family. If you're traveling with children, this is a must-visit. The game room and veranda are great spots for kids to spend time and the farm is a fun experience for all. Although there are several activities for kids, there could be more options for families. However, there are plenty of activities to do for adults and children alike. Some guests mentioned that the $25 charge for a microwave per stay seems unreasonable, but overall, everyone loved the family vibe. The petting farm is a highlight for many with several activities offered to keep the kids entertained. Families with grandchildren had an especially great time and the farm in the morning is said to be an incredible experience. All in all, this resort is perfect for families looking for a fun family wedding weekend or a simple getaway with family and friends.

Outdoor Pool
The Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa boasts a nice outdoor pool, although it may require more upkeep to match the world-class grounds around it. Relaxation is still to be had as guests describe it as a peaceful and majestic spot to hang out. Unfortunately, during one guest's stay, the pool was closed one night due to a wedding without prior warning. Additionally, the hot tub was unavailable due to covid. But despite these hiccups, the outdoor pool remains a highlight of the resort for those looking for a refreshing dip.

Historic
The Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa is a historic and classic grand old hotel that oozes charm and character. The building boasts historical architecture and details that hold onto the antique character of the property dating back to 1865. Despite the beautiful renovation, the hotel still maintains its historic feel, bringing guests back to the days of elegance, hospitality and civility. The rooms are spacious and designed in the historic style of the hotel with showers that must be historic as well since it takes time to figure out how to set the water temperature. The historic setting of this unique property is truly amazing and guests can feel the history throughout their stay. It's a vintage resort that holds onto its fascinating past and offers guests a taste of historical hospitality.
