Location
Low Wood Bay is truly a hidden gem boasting a gorgeous location on the edge of Lake Windermere offering stunning views of the lake. It is the perfect place for anyone looking for a beautiful, peaceful and convenient location. Being close to Ambleside, it offers easy access to great shopping areas. The hotel is set in a lovely location that is ideal for walking into Ambleside. There is plenty of room in the car park and the spa is also available nearby ensuring guests can fully enjoy their stay. The hotel has a lovely setting and venue with amazing views of the lake from Wilander. Though the location is great with fabulous views over Lake Windermere, guests mentioned the 'A' road between the hotel and the lake which was daunting to cross with high volume and speed of traffic. Apart from this, the 'dirty tables, floors, communal toilets and cobwebs' was an uncomfortable experience. That being said, guests highly recommend Low Wood Bay for its location and comfy beds. The hotel offers a nice and convenient location in-between both Ambleside and Bowness-On-Windermere, making it the perfect staycation spot for anyone looking for a lovely setting, stunning scenery and an excellent location.

However, some guests experienced long waits and rudeness from restaurant staff. Some found the food to be amazing and delicious while others found it to be average and overpriced. The quality seems to vary from meal to meal with some being excellent and others being poor. Drinks were also noted to be quite expensive. Overall, the dining experience at Low Wood Bay is not consistent and guests should be prepared for average to exceptional food at a higher cost.

Despite the price, guests also reported difficulty finding a parking space and issues with the condition of the car park, such as stones on the grass.
