Blue Iguana Inn, a cozy hotel in the heart of the picturesque town of Ojai, is a hidden gem just set back from the road. The location is perfect for a stop when driving from the SF Bay Area to SoCal, just within five minutes of the town. The property offers a beautiful setting with romantic grounds, gorgeous landscapes and lots of places to relax. Surrounded by no light pollution, the location is pleasant and perfect for a peaceful retreat. Though the entrance is a bit hard to find off the main road, the grounds are lovely with a real resort feel. However, some rooms are too close to the noisy road, causing constant traffic noise and therefore not suitable for those spending time outside. Nevertheless, guests loved the location, which is great and near a busy road, but not so close to the highway with proximity to town and activities. Additionally, the hotel offers bikes for rent, a very convenient option for guests to ride into town, which is just a 15-minute ride away. Overall, Blue Iguana Inn is an ideal place to stay if you're looking for a quaint and cute accommodation with a front and back patio to relax in and enjoy your time.

The only letdowns are a musty smell in some rooms, sinks and fridges that smell like sewage and visibly yellow towels. Despite that, everything else in the hotel is perfectly clean and well-maintained.

The staff goes above and beyond to provide excellent customer service with some saying it was absolutely first class. Lovely grounds and great amenities are complemented by the polite and attentive staff. Although there were a few negative comments about one front desk person lacking a customer service vibe and some inflexibility when it came to late check-outs, overall the staff is personable and helpful and guests appreciated their kindness and responsiveness.
