'Soggiorno Madrid' enjoys many positive reviews that highlight several key aspects making it a solid choice for travelers visiting Florence.
The prime location is notably one of the hotel’s major advantages. Situated just a ten-minute walk from Santa Maria Novella station and in close proximity to a tram stop, guests find it convenient to access the city center and other key areas, including the airport. This strategic location, combined with the peaceful local environment and nearby restaurants, ensures both convenience and a comfortable stay.
Although the hotel does not offer a traditional breakfast service, nearby cafés and bars provide alternatives. For a small fee, guests can enjoy a basic breakfast with coffee orange juice and a croissant. Despite mixed feelings about this arrangement, some guests appreciate the options and find the in-room amenities, such as a coffee machine and kettle, to be a workable solution.
The rooms at Soggiorno Madrid are frequently praised for their spaciousness and cleanliness. Families find the accommodations large and comfortable with amenities like private bathrooms, coffee/tea sets and heating contributing to the ease. While some minor issues like shower drainage, ventilation and window insulation during colder months are noted, the overall atmosphere is friendly and warm.
Cleanliness receives mixed reviews; while many guests report spotless and well-maintained rooms, others encounter issues like mold, superficial cleaning and unsanitary conditions. This inconsistency suggests that future guests might benefit from addressing specific cleanliness concerns with the management upon arrival.
The staff, particularly Sam and the owner, are highlighted for their attentiveness, warmth and helpfulness. Their friendly demeanor and willingness to assist significantly enhance guest experiences, even though there are occasional hiccups with reaching staff or the reception being unstaffed at times.
While the Wi-Fi service garners mixed reviews—some guests find it reliable and suitable for streaming, others mention frequent disconnections and poor connectivity—the overall presence of practical amenities like a functional coffee maker improves the stay.
Opinions on the beds vary with many guests finding them comfortable and clean. However, others report dissatisfaction due to issues like old, uncomfortable mattresses and poorly constructed beds. This mixed feedback indicates that the comfort of the beds can be hit or miss.
In summary, 'Soggiorno Madrid' serves as a well-located and budget-friendly accommodation choice, ideal for travelers who value convenience and reasonable pricing. With attentive staff, spacious rooms and a good connection to key parts of Florence, it presents a compelling option for visitors despite some areas needing improvement.
