Hotel Manantial, nestled in the picturesque mountains of Caldes de Boi and close to Aigüestortes Natural Park, is a favored destination for nature lovers seeking tranquility and relaxation. Surrounded by serene gardens, waterfalls and breathtaking mountain views, it offers a perfect retreat for hiking and excursions with easy access to charming nearby villages. The outdoor thermal baths enhance the serene experience.
Guests have a generally positive view of the breakfast buffet, appreciating its variety and quality, though some feel it does not meet the expectations of a 4-star hotel. Dinner experiences are mixed; the bar food receives praise for its taste and simplicity, but the cost and quality of restaurant dinners often disappoint. Despite good variety and dedicated staff, some find the dinner overpriced and lacking in quality.
When it comes to the rooms, the feedback is diverse. Many guests commend the spacious and comfortable rooms, particularly praising the large suites, soft beds and renovated features. However, the hotel faces criticism for outdated decor, maintenance issues and inconsistent cleanliness, including noise disturbances and poor views from lower floors.
Cleanliness across the property is inconsistent. While some guests find their rooms clean and comfortable, others report issues like unpleasant odors, dust and inadequate cleaning in common areas and facilities.
The staff at Hotel Manantial are generally well-regarded for their friendliness and attentiveness, particularly in reception and during activities. However, there are reports of insufficient staff, unqualified personnel and occasional grumpiness, particularly in the bar area, indicating a need for better training and consistency.
The hotel’s free wifi service is a significant issue with many guests experiencing poor or nonexistent connectivity. While some find the wifi satisfactory, these instances are rare.
The spa, though praised for its retro wooden style and exceptional treatments, needs modernization. The thermal pools receive mixed reviews and issues with access and organization detract from the overall experience. Children are allowed in the spa, which may not appeal to guests seeking a quieter ambiance.
The pool area is a standout feature with beautifully designed, spring-fed and thermal water pools that guests enjoy despite occasional maintenance issues.
While the beds are often described as very comfortable, experiences vary significantly with some guests finding them too soft, hard or deformed, indicating inconsistent quality.
Overall, despite its beautiful location, Hotel Manantial does not consistently meet the expectations of a 4-star hotel. Guests cite outdated facilities, inconsistent service quality and a general need for thorough renovations and improvements in various areas to align with its advertised star rating.
