Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Hôtel des Thermes receives widespread acclaim for several aspects that enhance the overall guest experience. The hotel's enviable location stands out as a significant draw with its proximity to the historic city center, the Bourbons castle, nearby baths and other local attractions making it a prime choice for visitors. Additionally, the hotel's central placement and easy access to major routes contribute to effortless urban exploration, further enhanced by the attentive and kind staff.
Breakfast at Hôtel des Thermes garners generally positive feedback, characterized by a variety of options including eggs, ham and cheese, all served in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. The quality of the food, particularly the bread, is frequently praised and friendly, professional staff contribute to a satisfying morning meal. Some guests pointed out minor inconveniences like a TV in the background, but overall the breakfast experience is well-regarded.
The dinner experience distinguishes itself with meals served in a palatial dining room, offering a sense of grandeur and elegance. The owner's specialty couscous is a standout dish, highly recommended for its outstanding taste. While some guests noted a lack of variety and high prices, the quality of the food is generally well-praised. The absence of the restaurant on several occasions has been a noted disappointment for some.
When it comes to rooms, guests describe them as spacious, comfortable and clean with quality bedding and fresh linens being particularly appreciated. The vintage decor reflects the building's early 20th-century origins, adding a touch of retro charm. However, some aspects, such as worn carpets and noisy plumbing, detract slightly from the experience. Nonetheless, helpful staff and additional features like small balconies and fitted kitchens contribute positively.
Cleanliness across the hotel is mostly lauded with impeccable conditions in rooms and shower areas often highlighted. Despite this, some communal areas like staircases and certain building conditions have drawn criticism for being worn and in need of renovation.
The hotel staff consistently receive high praise for their friendliness and attentiveness with many guests highlighting warm welcomes and consistently helpful service. Special mentions of staff members at reception and in the dining areas underscore the positive impact of the team on guest experiences, significantly enhancing the perceived value for money.
Parking is generally manageable and convenient with many guests finding street parking readily available. Although the hotel lacks private parking, the availability of free spots in front of the hotel and courtyard spaces for motorcycles helps to mitigate any inconvenience.
Finally, bed comfort at Hôtel des Thermes is frequently commended, ensuring guests have a restful night's sleep. Despite occasional mentions of stains on blankets and bedspreads, the overall quality and comfort of the bedding are positively received.
In summary, Hôtel des Thermes is celebrated for its strategic location, friendly staff, good breakfast, elegant dining experience and comfortable, clean accommodations, though there are areas, especially in communal spaces, where improvements could be made.
