Punkaharju Resort is lauded for its remarkable location by the serene shores of Lake Saimaa, providing guests with picturesque views and easy access to various water activities. The surrounding natural beauty, peace and well-maintained nature trails offer a perfect escape for those seeking tranquility and recreation. The presence of a sandy beach enhances the resort's appeal, making it ideal for relaxation and fun. The clean and comfortable facilities, along with proximity to local attractions, further enrich the overall experience.
The breakfast at Punkaharju Resort generally receives positive feedback for its quality and the pleasant dining atmosphere by the lakeshore. While the buffet is often praised for its richness and delicious offerings, there is room for improvement regarding variety and inclusivity in reservation packages. Some guests found the breakfast time inconvenient.
Dinner experiences at the resort receive mixed reviews. Although the service is friendly, many guests were disappointed with the limited menu options and quality of the food, particularly the à la carte meals and pizzas. The restaurant’s early closing time and high prices were also points of contention.
Accommodations at the resort, including cabins and studio apartments, are noted for their cleanliness, functionality and beautiful lake views. While the cabins provide a pleasant stay, some are viewed as small and in need of updates. Studio apartments, however, are spacious, clean and well-equipped, often exceeding guest expectations. Minor issues such as musty smells and quirky electrical setups were occasionally mentioned.
The cleanliness of Punkaharju Resort is a notable highlight with guests praising the tidy cabins, renovated shower facilities and clean public areas. The resort’s peaceful atmosphere and comprehensive range of activities, coupled with friendly and welcoming staff, contribute to an overall positive experience. A few minor issues were noted, but they did not significantly detract from the resort’s high standards.
The staff at Punkaharju Resort are generally friendly and helpful, especially the reception team who ensure smooth check-ins and checkouts. While there were occasional remarks about some restaurant staff being rude and a few language barriers, the overall sentiment towards the staff remains positive.
The quality of beds at the resort receives mixed feedback. While some find the mattresses and bedding comfortable, others report them as hard and uncomfortable. Despite this, the cleanliness of the beds, showers and kitchens adds a positive aspect to the overall accommodation experience.
In summary, Punkaharju Resort offers a beautiful, serene location with clean, comfortable accommodations and friendly staff. While there are some areas for improvement, particularly in dining and bed comfort, the resort provides a generally pleasant and memorable stay.
