Hotel Islane Médina, situated in the heart of Marrakech, garners high praise for its exceptional location. Guests appreciate its unparalleled proximity to key attractions like Jemaa el Fna Square and the Koutoubia Mosque, making it an ideal starting point for exploring the city. The convenience of being within walking distance of significant landmarks and vibrant markets, combined with lovely views of the Koutoubia Mosque, enhances its appeal.
The breakfast experience, served on a charming rooftop terrace with splendid views, stands out despite varied opinions on the food quality. Many enjoy the plentiful and varied buffet, while others find the options limited and in need of improvement. Regardless, the rooftop setting and friendly service, especially from staff members like Moustapha, adds a unique and positive touch to the mornings.
Room feedback is mixed; notably, guests appreciate the cleanliness and comfort with well-equipped and air-conditioned facilities, even noting beautiful views from certain rooms. However, some describe the rooms as small, outdated and not as depicted in photos. Issues with poorly maintained bathrooms, noise and lack of heating are common critiques. Cleanliness receives mixed reviews as well with daily cleaning and clean towels praised, yet other reviews highlight moldy bathrooms, dirty floors and occasional insect presence.
A consistent highlight across reviews is the hotel staff, who are described as friendly, helpful and professional. Individuals like Miky and Loubna receive special mentions for their outstanding service. The staff's welcoming and accommodating nature significantly enhances the overall guest experience.
Wi-Fi services at the hotel draw mixed reactions, working well in some areas but frequently interrupted or weak in others, particularly in rooms far from the router. Bed comfort is another point of contention; while many find the beds clean and comfortable, others report issues with old, sagging mattresses and insufficient bedding.
Despite its central and strategic location, Hotel Islane Médina is an older property, undergoing renovations to meet the expectations of its 3-star rating. Its integration with a café, restaurant and spa provides added dining and relaxation options. Overall, while the location and staff service are major strengths, updates in cleanliness, room quality and amenities are needed to fully meet guest expectations.
