Potawatomi Inn & Cabins, nestled within the peaceful and scenic Pokagon State Park, offers guests a serene retreat with breathtaking lakefront views and lush hiking trails. The historic charm of the property, combined with its tranquil surroundings, makes it an attractive destination for nature lovers and families. Guests frequently highlight the property's easy access to activities such as the Toboggan Run and the nearby beach.
Breakfast at the inn generally receives positive feedback for its satisfying and reasonably priced offerings, though some find the buffet options limited and service occasionally slow. Dinner reviews are more mixed; while many praise the quality and reasonable pricing of the food, there are consistent reports of long wait times and inconsistent service. Improvements in food preparation and promptness could enhance the dining experience further.
Rooms at Potawatomi Inn & Cabins provide a mix of rustic charm and basic comforts. They are generally clean and comfortable with some guests appreciating the historic ambiance. However, there are frequent mentions of dated decor, small and cramped bathrooms and firm or uncomfortable mattresses. While the rooms meet basic cleanliness standards, they would benefit from updates and modern conveniences.
The cleanliness of the property, including the well-kept grounds and shared areas, is largely appreciated, though specific areas like the pool restrooms and some bedrooms show signs of wear and would benefit from more thorough maintenance. The property has a picturesque setting and friendly staff, which contribute significantly to the welcoming atmosphere. Despite some communication lapses, particularly during night shifts, the staff generally receive high praise for their helpfulness and professionalism.
The Wi-Fi service at Potawatomi Inn & Cabins is inconsistent with some rooms offering better reception than others. Guests have reported frequent log-ins and spotty connectivity, which can be a minor inconvenience during the stay.
The pool area, including an indoor heated pool, is particularly popular with families, providing fun and enjoyment for children. However, some maintenance issues have been noted, such as equipment being out of order and the need for pool area repairs and cleanup.
The inn proves to be exceptionally family-friendly, offering a wide range of activities and amenities to keep children entertained and families comfortable. From spacious family suites to a game room and an inviting indoor pool, the property provides an excellent venue for family reunions and bonding moments.
Overall, while Potawatomi Inn & Cabins offers a charming and enjoyable experience with its beautiful location, friendly staff and numerous activities, attention to detail in room and facility updates could significantly enhance guest satisfaction.
