Location

Nestled in a secluded paradise, Ban Raya Resort and Spa boasts an idyllic location perfect for those seeking tranquility and natural beauty. This hotel is strategically situated right by the sea, offering stunning views from its cliffside vantage point. Guests rave about the resort's beautifully landscaped park-like grounds, which are both expansive and meticulously maintained, enhancing the resort's charm and peaceful ambiance. The resort's proximity to azure waters and a private beach creates a sensational backdrop that many describe as a paradise on earth. The area is rich in biodiversity, making it a prime spot for snorkeling and diving adventures. The beauty of the surroundings is undeniable, with picturesque landscapes providing a spectacular view from every angle. For those looking to unwind, the location is simply perfect; the serene environment offers complete seclusion, making it an incredible place to relax and rejuvenate. The vast spaces and green areas mirror the untouched beauty of a deserted island, allowing guests the opportunity to be one with nature. With its wonderful location, pristine beaches, and breathtaking views, Ban Raya Resort and Spa delivers a sensational experience that leaves travelers in awe of its sheer beauty and tranquility.

Breakfast

The breakfast experience at Ban Raya Resort and Spa seems to be quite mixed. While some guests found the breakfast buffet to be a bonus and describe it as good or abundant, others noted that the selection is limited, primarily catering to Asian tastes with savory options like rice, sausages, and eggs. The breakfast lack variety, and many guests found the same offerings daily, which could become monotonous over longer stays. The quality is described as decent by some, yet others felt it was poor and unappealing. Options suitable for Western visitors and those looking for pastries or yogurt were notably absent. For those who enjoy Asian cuisine, the breakfast may still be satisfactory, though it might not suit everyone's preferences.

Dinner

Ban Raya Resort and Spa offers a dining experience with mixed reviews. Many guests appreciate the delicious flavors, especially the dinners, which are notably tasty. The restaurant ambience, with its seaside views, adds an appealing touch to the dining experience. However, some feel that the restaurant could be cozier, suggesting improvements in the evening lighting. There are critiques regarding the limited choice of dishes and overall food quality, with some guests describing the meals as mediocre or unappetizing. Pricing is a common concern; while some believe the costs are reasonable considering the island surcharge, others find the prices too high compared to nearby resorts and Phuket, especially given the quality of food. These factors lead some guests to dine at neighboring establishments for better value. The Ban Raya Resort and Spa restaurant has its strengths in taste and location, but there are opportunities for enhancement in menu diversity, food preparation quality, and pricing to elevate the dining experience further.

Rooms

Ban Raya Resort and Spa offers a mix of spacious and clean rooms with basic yet functional amenities. Many guests appreciated the large, open rooms and the nice beds, along with the views over the lawn and water. Though the simplicity of the interior decoration adds to the overall minimalist aesthetic, some guests felt that the rooms and facilities were outdated and could benefit from a refresh. Several reviewers noted that the rooms were clean upon arrival, with bedding changed for each guest. However, concerns were raised about the cleanliness and presence of ants in a few instances. The lack of certain features such as a refrigerator, hairdryer, and kettle was a recurring mention and could be considered a drawback for those who prioritize such conveniences. While the bungalows were described as beautiful and spacious, their value compared to the cost was questioned by a few visitors. Despite the shortcomings, the resort still provides a good level of comfort and cleanliness, and guests can enjoy a lovely beach along with an amazing pool. Overall, while Ban Raya Resort and Spa may have some areas that require improvement, it remains a comfortable choice for travelers seeking a simple and relaxing stay.

Beds

The beds at Ban Raya Resort and Spa garner mixed impressions from guests. Many appreciate the large, cozy beds and find them comfortable, highlighting the softness and freshness of the bed linen and pillows. In particular, the ample bed size and softness contribute positively to the overall experience. Some guests, however, express dissatisfaction with aspects such as the hardness of the beds and pillows, which they liken to bricks, noting that they are uncomfortable and too high. The quality of the bedding ranges from average to musty-smelling, suggesting some inconsistencies in guest experiences. While there appears to be a divide in opinion regarding comfort levels, the spaciousness and comfort of the beds seem to stand out as redeeming features.

Cleanliness

Ban Raya Resort and Spa offers a mixed experience when it comes to cleanliness. Many guests appreciate the tidy and clean rooms, noting their spaciousness and comfortable beds. However, there are concerns about the general upkeep of the resort. For some, the cleanliness falls short, with reports of untidy rooms and inadequate cleaning during their stay. Bathrooms, in particular, have been criticized for being old and not well-maintained, with mold and pests noted by some visitors. While the resort is extensive and designed thoughtfully, parts of it could benefit from better maintenance and refurbishment. Additionally, cleaning services are not consistent and often require guest requests to be fulfilled. Despite these drawbacks, the facility's large layout and helpful staff are recognized by visitors, offering a glimpse of potential amidst the challenges in hygiene.

Staff

Ban Raya Resort and Spa receives mixed reviews when it comes to staff interactions, though the general sentiment leans positively. Many guests praise the staff for their friendliness and helpfulness, frequently describing them as polite, caring, and exceptionally sweet. The hotel's service is often noted as attentive, with proactive and enthusiastic front desk staff contributing to a pleasant stay. Additionally, guests appreciate the staff's efforts to ensure comfort and satisfaction, highlighting their accommodating nature and eagerness to assist. However, there are mentions of challenges in communication, particularly a language barrier with English speakers, as some staff seem to prefer communicating in other languages such as Chinese. While most staff are characterized as friendly and responsive, a few reviews indicate shortcomings in customer service and lack of effective communication. Despite isolated instances of dissatisfaction, the overall impression is of a dedicated team aiming to enhance the guest experience. Dining at the resort is a standout feature, with restaurant staff often receiving high praise for their superb service, adding value to guests' culinary experiences. Despite some noted difficulties, Ban Raya Resort and Spa delivers a generally positive interaction with its staff, consistently striving to create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for its visitors.

The highlight is its breathtaking infinity pool, providing a stunning panoramic view of the sea and rocky coast, perfect for swimming and watching mesmerizing sunsets. Visitors often note the pool's beauty and cleanliness, enhanced by a calm and relaxing atmosphere. The infinity swimming pool is praised not only for its aesthetic appeal but also for its convenience for diving. With great seating areas and lovely swings, guests appreciate the opportunity to unwind while gazing at the ocean. While the pool sometimes accommodates day trippers, its overall charm and views make it a significant draw for hotel visitors. Ban Raya Resort and Spa offers a delightful escape for families, particularly those looking to enjoy nature and the breathtaking views of the bay. The resort boasts a nice little beach area ideal for snorkeling, making it a wonderful spot for families with older children who enjoy marine activities.
