Castle Peak Hotel enjoys a strategically advantageous location, situated centrally in the city and close to major attractions like Ayala Mall and SM, as well as numerous restaurants, grocery stores and banks. This prime positioning makes it an excellent choice for guests seeking convenience and accessibility. The proximity to downtown attractions and bars further adds to its appeal, even though there are minor ongoing renovations, particularly with the swimming pool.
The breakfast offerings at Castle Peak Hotel receive a mixed but generally positive response. Many guests commend the buffet as good, great and even delicious, enjoying the availability and quality of the Filipino-style breakfast served at the hotel restaurant. However, some guests feel the breakfast lacks variety and does not cater well to Western tastes with calls for better value and more diverse options, potentially including more fruits and making breakfast inclusive in online bookings.
The rooms at Castle Peak Hotel offer a varied experience. Many guests appreciate the clean, cozy and well-equipped accommodations with comfortable beds, quiet environments despite the bustling location and functional air conditioning. While some rooms are described as modern and beautiful, others fall short with issues such as sagging mattresses, unclean floors and discrepancies between online photos and the actual rooms. Notably, the friendly and responsive hotel staff enhance the stay and the convenient location remains a consistent positive aspect.
Castle Peak Hotel maintains a reputation for a generally clean environment, but issues with cleanliness and maintenance are not uncommon. Positive remarks include clean rooms and comfortable deluxe accommodations, while criticisms focus on worn towels, insects and unclean carpets. The bathroom facilities, in particular, face frequent complaints about rusty fixtures and inadequate cleaning. Despite these issues, the location near the bus station and the friendly, helpful staff are appreciated by many guests.
The hotel staff frequently receive praise for their friendliness, professionalism and accommodating nature, making guests feel welcomed and comfortable. Specific mentions, like the exceptional service from staff members such as Muriel, highlight the positive experience many guests have due to the attentive and responsive staff. Minor issues with inattentiveness in the restaurant are noted but do not overshadow the overall favorable impression of the staff.
However, the hotel's Wi-Fi presents significant challenges with numerous guests reporting unreliable and unstable signals that often fail to reach their rooms. Attempts to mitigate these issues using Wi-Fi extenders have been largely ineffective.
The rooftop dipping pool provides mixed experiences. While some guests find it a pleasant spot for a quick cool-off, others report it as small, poorly maintained and occasionally unusable due to unclear or dirty water. The pool area has potential for relaxation but needs improvement to avoid disappointing guests.
Finally, feedback on the beds varies. Some guests find the beds, especially the king-size ones in Deluxe Rooms, extremely comfortable. Conversely, others mention discomfort due to bed bugs, rough bedding, shaky frames and itchiness, although many still find the beds decent and suitable for restful sleep.
In summary, Castle Peak Hotel stands out for its prime location, friendly staff and generally comfortable accommodations, despite some concerns with cleanliness, Wi-Fi and room variety.
