Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Campanile Marmande offers a convenient location for travelers, notably those making brief stops on long journeys. Situated near the city center and numerous shops and restaurants, the hotel provides easy access to everyday necessities. Its strategic positioning near the motorway and accessible commercial areas makes it an attractive choice for those in transit, including travelers with pets.
Breakfast at the hotel receives praise for being hearty and varied, fitting well within French standards. Guests commend the ample portions and variety of choices, including cheeses, fruits, pastries and hot drinks. While some guests have noted limited options and felt the cost could be lower, the overall feedback remains positive, particularly appreciating the green, shaded terrace for meals.
Dinner experiences at Campanile Marmande are mixed with many guests praising the good quality food and welcoming dinner service. The cuisine is often described as generous and good value for money, though some criticisms include limited menu choices and occasional overcooking of dishes. The restaurant's closure on weekends and public transportation issues further complicate the dining experience. Guests suggest that addressing these inconsistencies could significantly enhance overall satisfaction.
Rooms at the hotel are generally spacious with high-quality, comfortable bedding, providing a restful stay. However, they also show signs of being outdated with noticeable wear and tear and some cleanliness issues. Despite these drawbacks, the service and hospitality are positively noted, suggesting that the welcoming nature of the staff compensates for the dated accommodations.
Cleanliness at the hotel garners mixed feedback. Many guests find the hotel and rooms very clean with impressive hygiene standards, while others report issues such as mold, foul odors and bugs. Although aging facilities require renovation, the overall cleanliness and comfort contribute to a satisfactory stay.
The staff at Campanile Marmande are frequently praised for their exceptional hospitality. Guests appreciate the warm, friendly and helpful demeanor of the personnel, particularly highlighting the efforts of the reception and restaurant teams. This level of service significantly enhances the overall experience, making up for some of the hotel's structural shortcomings.
The Wi-Fi service received mixed reviews with some guests experiencing issues, especially international travelers due to the requirement for a French mobile number. Connectivity problems in upper-floor rooms also detracted from the experience. Improvements to the Wi-Fi accessibility and reliability would benefit guests.
Parking at the hotel is ample and convenient, being free and easily accessible with spaces located in front of room doors. However, concerns about the lack of security due to it not being closed or guarded at night were noted, raising safety apprehensions.
The beds predominantly receive positive feedback for their comfort and quality mattresses, contributing to a good night's sleep. Despite occasional critiques about hardness or softness, the overall sentiment is favorable regarding the bedding with many guests enjoying restful experiences.
In summary, Campanile Marmande offers a practical and convenient stay with commendable food options, exceptional staff hospitality and comfortable bedding. While there are areas for improvement, particularly in room updates, Wi-Fi accessibility and parking security, the hotel's strategic location and overall service make it a suitable choice for short-term stays and transit stops.
