Hotel Sunflower provides a strategically favorable location for travelers who prioritize accessibility and value. Situated away from Milan's bustling city center, it offers a peaceful retreat while maintaining excellent public transportation links, including a bus stop out front and a nearby tram line. This makes reaching major attractions like Piazza Duomo and transit hubs such as Bovisa train station convenient. The suburban quiet and well-connected location cater well to business travelers and those attending events at the Politecnico di Milano or visiting the San Siro stadium. While some guests mention the less vibrant neighborhood and 20-30 minute commute as drawbacks, the overall location is practical for those valuing connectivity.
Guests often highlight the hotel's breakfast as a significant strength, featuring a wide variety of high-quality, fresh options, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and lactose-free dishes. The attentive staff and the option to dine on the outdoor terrace enhance the experience. Although there are mentions of areas needing improvement, particularly in variety and certain quality aspects, most guests find the breakfast an enjoyable and hearty start to the day.
Though the hotel lacks an in-house restaurant, its proximity to highly recommended local eateries, including seafood and other quality dining options, makes up for it. Guests appreciate the bar service available in the evening and find alternatives in the nearby area more than satisfactory.
The rooms at Hotel Sunflower are generally well-reviewed for their spaciousness, cleanliness and comfort. Many guests appreciate the modern, well-furnished interiors and daily housekeeping. Comfortable beds contribute to a restful sleep and practical amenities like air conditioning and refrigerators add to the convenience. However, there are occasional criticisms about outdated furnishings, inconsistent room quality and minor maintenance issues.

The hotel's commitment to hygiene extends to facilities like the gym and breakfast area. The diligent and friendly staff further elevate the experience, ensuring guests have a pleasant stay.
The staff is frequently lauded for their exceptional service, characterized by friendliness, professionalism and helpfulness. From efficient check-ins to addressing issues promptly, the team at Hotel Sunflower enhances the guest experience significantly. Multilingual abilities and the welcoming demeanor of staff members like the receptionists and supervisor Roberto are particularly appreciated.
Wi-Fi service at the hotel receives mixed reviews but is generally deemed reliable. While many guests experience strong and effective internet connections, some report issues with connectivity, particularly in rooms. Despite these occasional problems, the Wi-Fi service adequately meets most guests' needs.
Parking at Hotel Sunflower is convenient with a range of options including free street parking and more secure paid options like an underground car park and garage. The availability of parking, coupled with the hotel's proximity to public transportation, ensures a hassle-free experience for those arriving by car.
While the beds are mostly described as comfortable and conducive to a good night's sleep, some guests note issues with bed configurations and mattress firmness. Nonetheless, cleanliness and the general comfort of the bedding are well-regarded.
Despite maintaining good cleanliness, the hotel's four-star rating is occasionally questioned by guests who feel that the decor and amenities may fall short of such a classification. Complaints about outdated furniture and a lack of premium facilities suggest that the hotel may align more closely with a three-star standard in these areas.
Business travelers find Hotel Sunflower to be a practical choice, particularly due to its location, cleanliness, reliable internet and helpful staff. The hotel meets various business needs and regularly hosts business meetings, even though it lacks a dedicated business center.
