The charming old half-timbered houses, convenient access to public transportation and proximity to essential amenities such as a bakery, craft brewery and local restaurants enhance its appeal. Despite the somewhat busy road and nearby church chimes, the tranquil neighborhood and lovely views add to the hotel's inviting atmosphere.
Though the hotel doesn't provide breakfast, convenient alternatives like a nearby bakery and small supermarket ensure guests can easily source their morning meals. The in-room kitchens facilitate this, making breakfast preparations straightforward. Dinner, however, is one of Gasthof Zur Traube's standout offerings. The onsite Mexican restaurant, Tres Amigos, receives consistent praise for its delicious, authentic cuisine, generous portions and delightful atmosphere. The added convenience of room service further enhances the dining experience.
Guest reviews emphasize the spacious, clean and comfortable accommodations with many rooms featuring traditional Swiss/Bavarian architecture, cozy wooden floors and modern amenities like Netflix-capable TVs. Although some rooms are considered a bit old-fashioned, the overall comfort, soundproofing and well-equipped kitchens make for a pleasant stay. Thorough cleanliness, especially in bathrooms, is frequently highlighted, despite isolated mentions of certain amenities needing better upkeep.
The hotel's friendly and accommodating staff contribute significantly to the positive guest experiences with warm welcomes and attentive service creating a hospitable environment. The establishment also caters well to various transportation needs, offering free parking for cars and secure bike storage, making it accommodating for both motorists and cyclists.
Gasthof Zur Traube is particularly family-friendly with spacious quarters that easily accommodate large families or groups. The quiet yet central location, coupled with easy access to local attractions and family-friendly restaurants, makes it an ideal choice for family excursions. The comfortable beds ensure a restful sleep, despite minor criticisms on bed design. The hotel's pet-friendly policy with no extra costs and spacious rooms for larger dogs, further enhances its appeal for guests traveling with pets.
Overall, Gasthof Zur Traube offers a serene and comfortable retreat with excellent dining options, superb staff and an accommodating environment for families, cyclists and pet owners alike.
