You Empire Hostel & Bar in Pakse stands out for its prime location, offering both convenience and tranquility for travelers. Situated within a central yet serene area, it is just an eight-minute walk from the bus station and close to various eateries, markets and the city center—all ensuring a range of dining and exploration options. The hostel maintains a peaceful environment despite its proximity to busy areas, combining comfort with new furniture and effective air conditioning.
Guests appreciate the cleanliness and spaciousness of the rooms, whether opting for private accommodations or shared dormitories. The rooms are well-maintained with comfortable beds and many come with private, spacious bathrooms or balconies. Cleanliness extends to the common spaces and bathrooms, which are frequently noted for being well-kept and recently renovated.
The staff at You Empire Hostel & Bar receive exceptional praise for their friendliness and attentiveness. English-speaking staff are particularly helpful, providing clear communication, local tips and personalized service. The reception team, including a standout individual named Thai, is commended for making guests feel at home and addressing any needs promptly.
While the Wi-Fi is generally reliable in the common areas, guests have pointed out issues with connectivity in the rooms, particularly on the higher floors. The bed comfort receives mixed reviews with some finding them very comfortable and others noting issues such as hard mattresses or feeling the springs. However, dormitory beds offer privacy through curtains, adding to a pleasant stay.
The hostel does not offer an extensive breakfast with the available option being basic and somewhat lacking in variety, especially for vegetarians. Despite this, the provision of utensils allows guests to bring and enjoy their own meals.
Overall, You Empire Hostel & Bar offers a favored choice for travelers seeking a balance of convenience, cleanliness and friendly staff with only minor areas for improvement such as breakfast variety and Wi-Fi connectivity in certain rooms.
