Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
OYO Times Square is favorably reviewed for its unbeatable location in the heart of New York City, providing guests immediate access to Times Square, Broadway theatres, major subway stations and numerous shops, restaurants and bars. Guests find this central positioning ideal for sightseeing and attending Broadway shows with landmarks like Rockefeller Center and Radio City Music Hall just a stroll away. The location ensures that guests are immersed in the vibrant New York experience, despite some inevitable noise from the bustling surroundings.
The hotel offers compact, well-appointed rooms typical of New York City accommodations, appreciated for their cleanliness and comfort. Guests often note the modern furnishings and the comfort of the beds, though they are small with limited storage space. The decor, fresh paint and new carpets are frequently praised. However, the rooms do have their drawbacks, such as limited amenities, noise issues due to poor soundproofing and less appealing internal views in some rooms. Despite these aspects, the overall cleanliness is satisfactory with housekeeping maintaining high standards through regular room cleaning and fresh linens.
Guest feedback highlights the friendly, helpful and efficient staff as a major positive element of the hotel. The staff is noted for their courteousness, attentiveness and willingness to assist with local information, making the stay more comfortable and pleasant. Any issues are promptly handled, adding substantial value to the guest experience.
While the hotel does not provide breakfast on-site, guests often turn to nearby coffee shops and eateries. Although some miss an in-house breakfast option, the local alternatives receive positive remarks for their tasty choices.
Wifi service receives mixed reviews with many guests experiencing issues such as frequent cuts and slow speeds, particularly in the evenings. Despite this, the friendly and responsive staff somewhat mitigate the frustration caused by the unreliable internet.
Families appreciate the hotel's prime location and the comfortable amenities, yet rooms can feel cramped for longer stays or larger families. The property is more suitable for groups or young people rather than families, couples or elderly individuals.
For guests who thrive on the energetic nightlife, the hotel's close proximity to bars, clubs and restaurants is a significant advantage. However, the lively area brings with it noise from the street and ongoing construction, which can be a disturbance for those seeking a quieter environment.
While some guests find the beds comfortable, many reviews cite issues with bed quality, describing them as narrow, squeaky and uncomfortable. Maintenance and cleanliness of the beds also receive criticism, suggesting room for improvement in this area.
Overall, OYO Times Square is best suited for individuals prioritizing convenience and location over luxury and spaciousness, providing a clean, comfortable base for exploring the city's bustling attractions. The staff's exemplary service and the hotel's strategic positioning are highlights, ensuring a generally positive stay despite some noticeable shortcomings.
