Its strategic location is highlighted as one of its strongest aspects, balancing accessibility with tranquility. Nestled within walking distance of essential shopping amenities like Aldi and Tesco and close to recreational spots such as Annagora Spa and the aquapark, it offers a peaceful retreat while keeping guests within easy reach of the bustling city center and scenic Lake Balaton promenade. This makes it particularly ideal for those seeking quiet surroundings with the option to explore nearby attractions, including hiking trails around Balatonfüred.
The hotel’s breakfast is another frequently commended feature. Guests appreciate the abundance and variety of options available, including choices suitable for vegetarians and alternative milk options. The breakfast is consistently described as delicious and well-prepared, adding to the pleasurable start of the day. Although there are minor critiques regarding the coffee quality and occasional delays in replenishing items, the overall experience is very positive.
Dinner at Akadémia Hotel receives a mix of positive feedback and constructive criticism. Many guests speak highly of the delicious and varied food with generous portions available in a convenient buffet format. However, some guests noted limited and sometimes repetitive menu options, as well as issues with food freshness and temperature. Service at dinner also had occasional inconsistencies, though staff friendliness was acknowledged.
The rooms at Akadémia Hotel impress with their cleanliness, modern design and spaciousness. Guests frequently mention the comfortable beds and the provision of extra pillows, creating a restful and accommodating environment. Despite minor maintenance issues such as mold in the showers and flat pillows, the overall ambiance is lauded for its tranquility and contemporary comfort.

Guests have mixed experiences with the WiFi service; while some find it quick and easy to connect, others report limited or non-existent WiFi in the rooms. Despite these fluctuations, some guests still appreciated the available connectivity.
The hotel’s swimming and wellness facilities, including a pool, jacuzzi and saunas, are well-regarded. The pool's early opening hours and the clean, well-maintained wellness area add to the appeal. Although some guests noted the need for better towels at the pool and occasional noise from children, the overall experience remains positive.

Guests appreciate the welcoming nature of the hotel towards pets and the availability of activities like bicycle rentals, despite occasional cleanliness issues on terraces and a need for more breakfast variety.

Despite the generally high quality of services and facilities, there are questions about the hotel's four-star rating. Some guests feel that certain aspects, like food quality and cleanliness, do not meet four-star standards. This has led to mixed feedback, although the value for money is often cited as a redeeming factor.
The indoor pool and wellness center are standout features, providing guests with modern amenities and convenient access through a connecting corridor to the public municipal swimming pool.
