Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Hotel City Palace enjoys a strategic location near Varanasi Junction and key landmarks such as the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. This convenience appeals particularly to budget travelers and those prioritizing proximity to transportation and attractions. However, the immediate surroundings, characterized by narrow and congested streets, may not be appealing to all guests.
Guests frequently appreciate the complimentary breakfast included with their stay. Noteworthy mentions highlight the deliciousness and satisfactory quality of individual breakfast items. Nonetheless, the breakfast experience is marred by issues such as limited variety, lack of non-vegetarian options and inconsistency in availability. Some guests also expressed dissatisfaction with the quality, quantity and sourcing of the breakfast with reports indicating it often comes from outside food stalls rather than being prepared in-house.
The rooms at Hotel City Palace receive mixed feedback. Positive remarks focus on cleanliness with clean washrooms, beds and covers frequently mentioned. The hotel's staff also garner praise for their supportive and friendly nature. On the downside, the rooms are often described as small and congested, some lacking windows and occasional cleanliness issues such as dirty pillows and reports of cockroaches detract from the overall experience. Discrepancies between advertised and actual rooms also draw criticism.
Regarding overall cleanliness, the hotel seems to make significant efforts to maintain a tidy environment with many guests praising the cleanliness of both the rooms and bathrooms. However, there are also reports of lapses in housekeeping and general maintenance, pointing to areas needing improvement.
The staff at Hotel City Palace generally receive positive feedback, being described as supportive, cooperative and friendly. Specific employees, such as Rajesh and Murari, are frequently mentioned for their exceptional service. Nevertheless, there are instances of rude and unresponsive staff, slow service and additional costs that some guests found unnecessary.
In summary, Hotel City Palace offers a convenient and budget-friendly option for travelers, particularly those prioritizing location and basic amenities. While there are areas for improvement, particularly in room size and breakfast offerings, the helpful staff and overall cleanliness contribute positively to the guest experience.
