Hostal la Campana enjoys a prime location in the heart of La Línea, placing guests just a short walk from Gibraltar and surrounded by numerous local attractions like bars, restaurants, shops and terraces. Its central position also offers easy access to the beach, promenade and local transportation options. The cleanliness of the rooms and the friendliness of the staff significantly enhance the overall guest experience with many reviews praising the hostel for its spotless accommodations and exceptional hospitality.
The rooms, while basic and in need of updates, are generally clean and spacious. Some issues such as humidity on the ceilings, unpleasant odors and worn-out beds have been noted, though they did not detract significantly from the overall positive impression. Despite a few shortcomings, the hostel provides practical lodging for visitors whose priority is location rather than luxury.
Cleanliness receives mixed reviews, but many guests commend the hostel for its clean and comfortable rooms. Daily servicing and good showers contribute to a generally positive stay, although some guests encountered issues with dust, dirty floors and unpleasant smells. The staff is celebrated for their friendliness and helpfulness with the reception team and cleaning staff frequently mentioned for their exceptional service and attentiveness.
Beds at Hostal la Campana elicited varied feedback with some guests finding them comfortable but many pointing out problems such as short lengths, hard surfaces, squeaky frames and thin pillows. These issues suggest there is room for improvement in bed quality to better cater to guests' comfort.
In summary, Hostal la Campana stands out for its strategic central location and exceptional staff, making it a top choice for those looking to explore La Línea and Gibraltar. While the rooms are basic and could benefit from updates, the hostel remains a practical option with a welcoming atmosphere and convenient access to local attractions.

Hotel Miramar enjoys significant praise for its prime location in the center of La Línea de la Concepción, making it an excellent base for exploring Gibraltar, local bars, cafes and shops. Guests find the proximity to Gibraltar and various amenities such as the bus station and car rental services particularly convenient. The location allows clear views of Gibraltar from some rooms, enhancing the scenic aspect of their stay. Despite the hotel building being described as dated, its central position and reasonable pricing are key positives with the lively yet peaceful surroundings ensuring guests can enjoy local charm alongside international convenience.
While the hotel does not provide breakfast, the vibrant neighborhood compensates with excellent nearby options, particularly La Bombonera and local churro spots that guests highly recommend.
Room experiences vary; some guests find the rooms spacious, clean and equipped with comfortable beds and amenities like mini fridges and kettles. However, there are recurring critical points: many rooms are outdated with old furniture, poor lighting and musty smells. Cleanliness is inconsistent, as some reviews report well-kept rooms, while others mention dirty walls, hairballs and inadequate cleaning. Noise, both from other rooms and the street, along with maintenance issues, further add to the mixed feedback.
The staff at Hotel Miramar consistently receive high praise for their friendliness, helpfulness and efficiency. The 24/7 reception service stands out and specific staff members are commended for their exceptional support, making guests feel valued.
WiFi at the hotel is generally reliable and suitable for streaming with some guests noting occasional connectivity issues.
Beds also receive mixed feedback: while many find them comfortable and clean, others report issues with bed quality, such as mattresses sinking in the middle, itchy sensations and beds sliding away.
In summary, Hotel Miramar's outstanding location and commendable staff service significantly enhance the guest experience, despite the mixed reviews on room conditions and amenities. Improvements in maintenance and room updates could further boost guest satisfaction.
