Appartement Hotel Marolt is well-regarded for its picturesque location by a beautiful lake, offering direct access to a private beach and promenade. The serene and quiet setting is enhanced by a large bathing terrace, plenty of loungers and umbrellas and a well-maintained lawn, making it an ideal place for a relaxing lakeside retreat. Guests frequently commend the hotel's proximity to the town center, ample parking and additional amenities such as an indoor pool and evening programs. The friendly staff and a large variety available at the breakfast buffet, often described as excellent, further elevate the experience. The terrace provides a delightful backdrop for guests to enjoy their breakfast.
However, while the spacious apartments and brighter rooms with amenities like bathtubs are noted positively, the hotel rooms receive mixed reviews. Guests frequently mention outdated and worn-down furniture, cleanliness issues and overall poor maintenance. Specific concerns include old, damaged room furnishings, dirty floors, moldy bathrooms and lack of proper upkeep. Some houses within the hotel, such as House 3, are particularly problematic with reports of unoccupiable rooms and safety concerns.
Cleanliness is a recurring issue with many guests noting dirty rooms, unclean fixtures and inadequate housekeeping services. Common complaints include clogged drains, broken amenities and mold, contributing to a generally underwhelming impression of hygiene standards. The competence and hospitality of the staff also vary with reception staff praised for their friendliness but outdoor service areas often found lacking.
The indoor pool, while appreciated for its convenience, has mixed reviews regarding cleanliness and availability with some guests noting times when it wasn't usable. The quality of beds is another area of concern with reports of broken frames, old mattresses and uncomfortable sleeping conditions.
Ultimately, while Appartement Hotel Marolt is appreciated for its beautiful lakeside location, friendly staff and enjoyable breakfast service, it falls short in several key areas, including room quality, cleanliness and maintenance, making it less appealing for those seeking a comfortable and well-maintained stay. The hotel's affordability is a point of satisfaction for some guests, although others feel it does not meet the expected three-star standard.
