Pousada Casarão enjoys a prime location in the heart of São João del Rei, enabling guests to easily explore the historic center and nearby attractions. Visitors appreciate the accessibility to the captivating Church of São Francisco and the convenience of walking to various restaurants, bars, and shops. The inn, housed in a beautifully preserved historic building, offers spacious and inviting rooms within a cozy and charming atmosphere. Enhancing the experience is the friendly and attentive staff and a delightful breakfast featuring regional delicacies such as cheese pastry and fresh Minas cheese, although some guests suggest expanding the fruit options and better accommodating dietary restrictions.
Guests generally commend the pousada for its cleanliness, highlighting the pristine condition and fragrant bed linens in well-decorated rooms. The staff maintains a welcoming environment with consistent courtesy and personalized attention. While the property's Wi-Fi service receives mixed reviews, with some rooms offering strong connectivity and others experiencing disruptions, the pool area is praised for its relaxing atmosphere despite occasional maintenance concerns. Parking options are varied, with nearby off-site solutions providing safety, though availability can be limited during peak times.
Room reviews are generally positive, noting ample space, comfort, and cleanliness, but some guests mention issues such as street noise and maintenance needs. The beds present the most significant challenge, with varying comfort levels depending on room location; double beds tend to offer a better experience than single beds.
