Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Polo Floatel Kolkata offers a distinctive hospitality experience, primarily praised for its unique location along the Hooghly River, which provides guests with breathtaking views and easy access to Kolkata's vibrant cultural and historical attractions. The floating hotel's strategic position near landmarks such as the Eden Gardens and Howrah train station enhances its appeal, combining city convenience with a tranquil riverfront ambiance.
The breakfast experience at Polo Floatel is generally positive, with guests enjoying a plentiful and delicious spread, complemented by a charming riverside setting and friendly staff. Although some concerns have been raised about limited options and minor hygiene issues, the overall breakfast dining is satisfactory with potential for enhancement.
Dinner at the hotel's restaurant leaves a lasting positive impression, especially due to the panoramic views from the rooftop bar and standout dishes like the Bhetki fry. The quality of service and dining is mostly well-received, although some patrons find the menu pricing and selection, particularly of Bengali cuisine, could be improved. Despite occasional inconsistencies in food quality, the overall dining experience is considered worthwhile.
The rooms receive mixed feedback, with many guests applauding their cleanliness, comfort, and spectacular river-side views. While the modern and well-layout design is appreciated, there are some concerns about room size, maintenance issues, and noise disturbances that suggest areas for improvement.
Cleanliness across the property enjoys varied reviews; while some areas are marked as impeccably clean, others have been noted for showing signs of aging and infrequent upkeep. Maintaining a more consistent standard in cleanliness could further enhance the guest experience.
The staff at Polo Floatel Kolkata are frequently lauded for their professionalism and supportive nature. Commendations are given to several team members for their courtesy and attentiveness, contributing significantly to the pleasant overall hospitality. Although there are occasional reports of less helpful interactions, the staff's warmth and prompt service greatly elevate the hotel as a welcoming destination.
