Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Extended Stay America Suites - Elizabeth - Newark Airport is praised for its strategic location near Newark Airport, offering convenience for travelers with tight schedules. Guests also appreciate its proximity to the Mills at Jersey Gardens mall, various restaurants, entertainment options, car rental services and outlet stores, which adds significant value by minimizing commutes to business events and providing ample dining and entertainment choices.
The hotel's rooms receive mixed reviews. Positively, guests appreciate the spacious, well-laid-out rooms with useful amenities like kitchens and recliner chairs with comfortable beds being a standout feature. Some guests found the rooms to be clean, quiet and conducive to a restful stay. However, cleanliness is a recurring issue with reports of unclean bathrooms, stained sheets, unpleasant odors and general wear and tear in the building and facilities. Additionally, some guests noted problems such as broken amenities and inadequate kitchen equipment.
Breakfast at the hotel is generally viewed as falling short of expectations. Guests noted the minimal offerings of oatmeal and coffee with pre-packaged cereal bars and hard muffins failing to meet the demand for a more robust meal. The setup was often poorly stocked and there was a notable absence of more common breakfast items like eggs and sausages, indicating a need for substantial improvement in both variety and quality.
Staff experiences vary widely. Some guests received exceptional service from staff members like Jermaine and Shaquana, who contributed to a welcoming atmosphere. However, there were also reports of rude and dismissive behavior from some staff, inconsistency in service quality, issues with overcharging and unresolved security deposit returns.
The beds provide mixed experiences with many guests finding them extremely comfortable and conducive to a good night's sleep. However, there were complaints about the comfort of some beds with a few instances of bed bugs being reported, impacting the overall experience negatively.
Overall, while the prime location and certain room features receive positive feedback, improvements in cleanliness, breakfast offerings and service consistency are necessary to elevate guest satisfaction at Extended Stay America Suites - Elizabeth - Newark Airport.
