Hotel del Carmen, en el Centro - DESAYUNO Incluido! receives high marks for its exceptional location in central Tuxtla Gutierrez, placing guests within easy walking distance of key attractions such as Parque Marimba and the central square. Visitors appreciate the convenience of being close to a variety of restaurants, bars and shops, making it an ideal choice for leisure and business travelers alike. Despite rare mentions of an unattractive surrounding area, the hotel's central positioning and tranquil environment stand out positively.
The included breakfast generally meets guests' expectations, offering a good variety of local and traditional options with dishes like chilaquiles and hotcakes receiving specific praise. While some guests find the breakfast basic and somewhat lacking in variety, most consider it a good start to the day, especially when combined with the friendly and attentive service of the staff.
The rooms at Hotel del Carmen are consistently noted for their cleanliness and comfortable environment. Despite being smaller than depicted in promotional photos and occasionally cramped, they are well-maintained with reliable air conditioning and WiFi. Guests appreciate the colonial-style decor and the cozy atmosphere, although some mention minor issues like old furnishings and noise from neighboring rooms. The bathrooms, while clean, can sometimes feel too small, but overall, the rooms contribute positively to a restful stay.
Cleanliness is generally a strong point with frequent praise for spotless rooms and facilities. However, there are occasional mentions of inconsistent cleaning standards, such as dusty rooms and stained towels, indicating some room for improvement in this area.
The hotel's staff plays a crucial role in enhancing the guest experience. Described as friendly, helpful and efficient, the staff receives consistent commendation for their excellent service. Their attentiveness and courteousness significantly contribute to the welcoming atmosphere of the hotel.
WiFi performance is mixed; while many guests find it functional and satisfactory, others encounter issues with speed and connectivity. The variability in WiFi quality suggests that improvements could be beneficial, especially in areas like the dining room.
Parking at the hotel is another area with mixed feedback. While secure and guaranteed parking is available nearby, it is not directly on-site, which can be inconvenient for some guests. The assistance provided by the staff in locating parking spots helps mitigate this issue, though it remains a slight drawback.
Families visiting Hotel del Carmen find it to be a comfortable and welcoming choice, thanks to the friendly staff and convenient location. While room sizes can be a bit limiting for families, the overall environment is described as calm and safe, enhancing the family-friendly appeal of the hotel.
The beds generally receive positive feedback for their comfort, though a few guests mention issues with hardness, sheet quality and occasional bed insects. The hotel could improve by ensuring a consistent standard for bedding and addressing these minor concerns.
