Its strategic location, near an S-Bahn station and close to the highway, makes it convenient for both city visits and local excursions, including trips to Laxenburg Castle and bike tours. The peaceful surroundings provide a relaxing retreat, supported by ample parking facilities and an onsite restaurant.
The hotel’s breakfast stands out as a highlight, offering an extensive, high-quality selection of fresh, homemade and regional products, including gluten-free and vegan options. Guests frequently praise the breakfast as sensational, luxurious and rich, complementing the overall dining experience. Dinner also receives high marks with delicious, affordable meals prepared using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. Guests commend the spacious, meticulously clean rooms furnished with high-quality materials, providing a restful and welcoming atmosphere. While the occasional lack of a minibar or kettle and some summer heat issues are noted, the overall comfort and cleanliness, coupled with friendly staff, ensure a pleasant stay. The family rooms, in particular, are highlighted for their size and spotless maintenance.
Cleanliness is consistently praised across the property with minor oversights being rare and overshadowed by overwhelmingly positive feedback. Hotel Waitz - Self Check In is predominantly appreciated for its favorable location, which makes it a practical choice for a variety of travelers, especially those on long journeys or attending local events. It's situated about an hour from both the center of Vienna and the airport, accessible via public transport and offers ample free parking. The proximity to cafes and restaurants further enhances the guest experience. While there is some road noise when the windows are open, courtyard-facing rooms provide a quieter alternative.
The hotel’s cleanliness receives substantial praise with many guests highlighting the clean, tidy rooms and friendly cleaning staff. Issues such as strong odors from cleaning chemicals and noisy ventilation are occasionally noted, but the overall emphasis is on high standards of cleanliness.
Guests generally find the rooms clean and spacious with a well-organized layout that adds to their comfort. The contactless check-in process is particularly valued. However, some rooms are noisier and have strange odors and attic rooms without air conditioning can be less comfortable. The simple yet functional decor, combined with reasonable pricing, makes these accommodations suitable for budget-conscious travelers.
Staff interactions are mostly positive with many guests describing them as friendly, accommodating and approachable. The breakfast staff receive special mention for their amicable demeanor and helpfulness over the phone. Although there are occasional reports of unfriendly service, particularly in the mornings, the general sentiment is that the hotel's staff significantly enhance the guest experience.
Reviews on breakfast are mixed. While some guests commend the quality of breakfast and the attentiveness to specific requests, others report inconsistencies in availability and quality, noting issues with fermentation and leftovers. Communication regarding breakfast offerings could be improved.
Opinions on the beds at Hotel Waitz vary widely. Some guests find them comfortable and functional, but many reviews point out concerns with bed conditions, mentioning broken frames, worn mattresses and lack of cleanliness. The quality and upkeep of beds appear inconsistent with preferences often leaning towards older spring mattresses.
In summary, Hotel Waitz - Self Check In stands out for its convenient location, high cleanliness standards and generally positive staff interactions. While the rooms and beds have areas needing improvement and breakfast experiences are mixed, the hotel offers a practical and satisfactory option for many travelers.
