Very Good

Location

Wood Hall Hotel & Spa boasts a truly wonderful location, tucked away in picturesque Yorkshire countryside with rolling fields as far as the eye can see. The hotel is surrounded by stunning grounds and offers guests ample opportunities for peaceful walks and relaxation. It's an isolated location, but not too far from work if needed. The property itself is charming, oozing historical character and set in a beautiful village. The narrow country drive to the hotel is tricky, but well worth it for the stunning setting and views over the countryside. Perfect for those seeking a peaceful and relaxing getaway in a truly lovely location.

Breakfast

Wood Hall Hotel & Spa offers an excellent breakfast that receives rave reviews from guests. The food is superb and delicious from a large menu with a range of choices. The breakfast is regularly described as imaginative, interesting and healthy. In addition to breakfast, the dinner is also excellent and exceeds guests' expectations. The service is outstanding with a warm welcome from the reception team. The rooms are spacious and have a good shower. Overall, Wood Hall Hotel & Spa provides a really nice stay with great food and the breakfast is a highlight of the stay.

Dinner

Wood Hall Hotel & Spa provides a wonderful dining option for guests. The food was fabulous and the lovely setting made the dining experience truly exceptional. The dinner and breakfast were rated as delicious by guests with some even describing the food as fantastic and amazing. However, a few guests did experience issues with undercooked main courses and limited menu choices. Additionally, some guests had negative experiences with the service, such as having to eat alone or having their plates taken away prematurely. Despite these occurrences, the quality of the food was generally acknowledged as excellent with guests particularly appreciating the delicious flavors.

Rooms

Wood Hall Hotel & Spa is a lovely historic hotel with beautiful rooms and excellent accommodation. Guests can enjoy the great spa and gym facilities during their stay. Rooms are spacious and comfortable with lovely balconies and views. Room service is also nice and the rooms are clean and well appointed. However, some guests have noted that there were cleanliness issues in some rooms with dirty doors in corridors, grubby areas and even a falling door handle. Some rooms also had low ceiling beams, while bathrooms were described as dated and in need of upgrading. Despite these minor issues, most guests were happy with their rooms and found them to be perfect for their families with some even given side by side rooms.

Cleanliness

Wood Hall Hotel & Spa is a beautiful property that offers great temperature and a spacious clean environment. The hotel's cleaning staff is excellent and they do an impressive job blitzing the rooms each day. However, some guests have noticed that the hotel needs a bit of TLC and there are dusty surfaces, cobwebs and even some long hairs on window sills. While some areas are spotless, others need attention. Additionally, some guests have noted issues with the cleanliness of the hotel. There are dirty doors in the corridors, bathrooms that are not clean enough and dirty glasses on internal doors and lifts. The bar area is also not very clean and some guests have complained about crushed crisps and dog hairs on the carpet. Overall, the cleanliness of the hotel is a mixed bag. While some parts are well-maintained, others need more attention to detail, especially when it comes to hygienic and infection control.

Staff

Wood Hall Hotel & Spa boasts an exceptional team of staff who provide an outstanding level of care and friendliness to ensure guests have a truly enjoyable stay. The majority of staff are professional, friendly and efficient, constantly going above and beyond for guests. The accommodation is enriched by the service of the wonderful and accommodating staff, who are polite and always there to help. While there are some less experienced or less friendly staff, our overall experience was overwhelmingly positive. Chris Monks, in particular, made a lasting impression. Unfortunately, not everyone was completely satisfied with their experience with some noting a lack of greeting or light conversation from certain staff members and a lack of apology from management in response to issues. However, the vast majority of guests felt extremely welcomed and attended to by the friendly and helpful staff and we would highly recommend Wood Hall Hotel & Spa.

Spa

Wood Hall Hotel & Spa offers a lovely spa experience with great facilities and a range of excellent treatments. Guests have found the spa to be wonderful and nice with clean facilities and staff who take current circumstances seriously. The hotel's luxury pedicure is the best ever according to one guest and massages are also available. However, some guests have been disappointed with the size of the spa and the limited number of beds available. A few have also noted that the steam room is tiny and that the staff could be more attentive. Overall, though, the spa is a great addition to an already enjoyable stay with delicious food on offer too.

Pool

The pool at the Wood Hall Hotel & Spa has impressed many guests with its fantastic features. It is spacious, nice and perfect for a relaxing dip anytime during your stay. Children have dedicated swimming times in the pool, allowing them to enjoy the warm waters and have fun. Speaking of warmth, guests have commented that the pool's temperature is lovely and warm, making it an excellent way to unwind after a busy day of sightseeing or meetings. Regardless of the season or time of day, the Wood Hall Hotel & Spa's pool promises an unforgettable swimming experience.
