Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Chenal Hotel enjoys a prime location in Beauvais, garnering consistent praise for its convenience and centrality. Situated across from the train station and within walking distance of the city center, it provides seamless connectivity for travelers, including those heading to Beauvais Tillé airport and guests planning day trips to Paris. Despite being in a bustling area, the hotel maintains a tranquil and clean environment, enhanced by nearby amenities such as a charming bar, several restaurants and a small park. This positioning, combined with the friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere, makes it an ideal base for both short stopovers and extended stays.
The hotel's breakfast offerings are generally well-regarded for their quality and variety, featuring a buffet with hot and cold options that cater to diverse tastes. The breakfast is described as very good, hearty and fresh with excellent coffee and orange juice being standout features. However, there are some critiques regarding the replenishment and variety of certain items. Improvements in logistical aspects could further enhance the breakfast experience.
The dinner services at the hotel receive positive feedback, particularly for the perfectly cooked steak and the charming French decor that adds elegance to the dining experience. Although some found the hotel’s bar drinks overpriced and there were no options for night-time dining, the nearby restaurants, including a highly recommended one across the street, provide ample alternatives. The comfortable and clean rooms, alongside local dining options, contribute to a pleasant stay imbued with French charm.
Rooms at the Chenal Hotel are consistently clean and comfortable, often noted for their classic French style and spaciousness. However, many rooms are somewhat small with outdated furniture and occasional maintenance issues. Concerns about noise and lack of modern amenities like air conditioning surface in some reviews. Despite these, the larger rooms are appreciated for their extra space and comfort, making the hotel a convenient choice for short stays, particularly for those prioritizing location.
The hotel is frequently praised for its cleanliness with many guests highlighting the tidy and spacious rooms along with well-maintained facilities. While there are occasional lapses in cleanliness, the majority of feedback reflects a high standard that contributes to a comfortable and pleasant atmosphere.
Staff at the Chenal Hotel receive glowing reviews for their friendliness, helpfulness and welcoming nature. Their kindness and attentiveness enhance the overall experience for guests, making them feel well-cared for during their stay. Although there are minor instances of unwelcoming behavior, the overall sentiment towards the staff is overwhelmingly positive.
WiFi connectivity at the hotel, however, is a notable drawback with many guests experiencing weak or non-existent connections in certain areas, making it unreliable for those in need of consistent internet access.
Parking options include a small private car park with a charge and free parking at a nearby station. While some guests find the parking convenient, others mention difficulty in access and limited availability. Planning ahead for parking can mitigate some of these challenges.
For families, the hotel provides a conducive environment with spacious rooms and family suites. Its location near transport hubs and a range of dining options adds to the convenience for those traveling with children.
The beds generally receive positive feedback for their comfort and quality, though some guests have found them hard and uncomfortable. Despite these occasional issues, the overall consensus is that the beds offer a comfortable sleeping experience.
In summary, Chenal Hotel offers a clean, charming French atmosphere with comfortable accommodations in an excellent location. While it faces some criticisms regarding room modernity and WiFi reliability, its friendly staff, quality breakfast and convenient location make it a favored choice among travelers visiting Beauvais.
