Hotel Kammweg, nestled in beautiful scenery in the Schmiedefeld and Oberhof and Rennsteig area, offers a budget-friendly stay that aligns with three-star hotel expectations. Guests appreciate the great views and the hotel's good value for money, considering it a functional and affordable option in the region. The location is picturesque, adding to the overall appeal.
However, some aspects fall short of the three-star standard with reviews noting that certain facilities need renovation and that the quality of services could be improved. While some rooms have been partially modernized, others remain outdated. The breakfast selection, particularly the cold cuts, is mentioned but doesn't seem to stand out. Overall, the hotel provides a reasonable three-star experience, but there are areas where it doesn't completely meet the anticipated standards of its rating.

The Werrapark Familienresort Hotel Heubacher Höhe is an affordable 3-star hotel that offers basic accommodation with modern furniture. Although the hotel has a certain charm, some guests compare it to an outdated youth hostel or a former FDGB holiday home. The hotel does not have its own restaurant and the half-board food is delivered from an external source. Additionally, guests complain about a lack of comfort and inconvenience, such as a distant outdoor parking lot and high prices during peak travel season. While the hotel may appeal to those with an interest in the history and rustic ambience of East Germany, most guests do not recommend staying here more than once. Despite its flaws, the hotel remains a passable option for budget travelers seeking a no-frills stay.
