Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Red Roof Inn PLUS Woodbridge - Carteret provides practicality and convenience for travelers, particularly due to its strategic location. Close to major highways and Newark Liberty Airport, it allows for easy commutes and access to New York City via NJ Transit and local buses. The hotel's proximity to essential amenities like grocery stores, diners and fast-food restaurants further adds to its attractiveness. It's also a pet-friendly establishment with ample parking and quick check-ins, making it suitable for travelers with diverse needs.
While the hotel does not offer breakfast and dining options nearby are limited, rooms are well-equipped with refrigerators, microwaves and coffee makers. Most guests praise the spacious, clean and comfortable rooms, noting effective air conditioning, good television options and comfortable beds. However, some guests reported maintenance issues like stains, hair in bathrooms and odd smells, reflecting inconsistent upkeep standards. Despite signs of aging, such as dated bathrooms and needing mattress replacements, the hotel generally provides a decent stay, particularly for those exploring New York and its surroundings.
Cleanliness, however, is a significant concern. Many reviews highlight issues like dirty linens, smelly rooms and unclean bathrooms. Reports of poorly maintained hallways, stairwells and unused facilities like the gym and pool further detract from the guest experience. Although some guests found their rooms and linens clean, these instances are exceptions amid broader complaints about housekeeping.
Staff experiences are varied. Many guests commend the team for friendliness and professionalism with specific mentions of helpful individuals enhancing their stay. Conversely, several guests encountered rude and unprofessional behavior, pointing to inconsistencies in service quality. This disparity means guest experiences can significantly vary.
The hotel's free Wi-Fi service is a notable down side with many guests reporting slow or non-functional internet during their stay, impacting convenience and satisfaction.
Lastly, feedback on bed comfort is mixed. While many guests enjoyed the super comfortable and clean beds, others reported significant issues like rock-hard or broken beds, cleanliness concerns and unpleasant smells. These inconsistency issues regarding bed quality can affect overall sleep quality.
In summary, Red Roof Inn PLUS Woodbridge - Carteret offers a convenient, pet-friendly location with essential amenities and generally comfortable rooms. However, significant areas for improvement include consistent cleanliness, reliable Wi-Fi and uniform staff professionalism.
