Situated beside a river and small waterfalls, the hotel offers a tranquil yet convenient setting for exploring the city's charming medina and key attractions such as the kasbah and Ras Alma. Guests frequently commend the beautiful and serene views from the hotel's terrace, enhancing its appeal for relaxation and sightseeing.
The hotel's breakfast is a major highlight with many guests praising the variety and quality of the offerings, particularly the Moroccan pastries and local breads. Friendly service and pleasant dining areas further contribute to a delightful morning experience. Despite some inconsistencies in the breakfast spread, the general feedback remains highly positive. Similarly, the dining experience at the hotel's restaurant is lauded for its quality and creativity, although some guests note a limited menu and higher prices compared to medina options.
Rooms at Hôtel ZIRYAB are generally well-received for their cleanliness, spaciousness and comfort with many guests appreciating the stunning views and well-furnished terraces. While a few have noted maintenance issues and outdated decor in certain rooms, the majority find the accommodations to be clean, cozy and comfortable.
Cleanliness is a strong point at the hotel with guests frequently highlighting the immaculate condition of both private and public spaces. The staff's dedication to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness contributes to a pleasant stay. The pool, though small, is a valued feature, offering a refreshing escape and a nice spot to relax, especially in the hot afternoons, despite occasional concerns about water cleanliness.
The exceptional staff at Hôtel ZIRYAB stand out for their friendliness, helpfulness and attentiveness, often going above and beyond to ensure guest comfort. This high level of customer service enhances the overall experience, making guests feel welcome and secure. The hotel fosters a family-friendly atmosphere with spacious areas and caring staff, making it an ideal choice for families.
However, one notable downside is the hotel's Wi-Fi service, which many guests find to be poor, inconsistent or completely non-functional in rooms. While this detracts from the overall experience, the hotel's many strengths in other areas help to outweigh this issue.
In summary, Hôtel ZIRYAB offers an excellent combination of location, hospitality, cleanliness and comfort, making it a standout option for travelers visiting Chefchaouen. The beautiful setting, friendly staff and family-friendly environment enhance the appeal, despite minor setbacks such as Wi-Fi connectivity and occasional room maintenance issues.
