The pool at Vacancéole - Le Domaine du Château - La Rochelle / Île de Ré has garnered mixed reviews, though many guests have found it to be a highlight of their stay. Positive remarks highlight the pool as being nice, superb and a real bonus for relaxation, noting its pleasant and clean state with plenty of lounge chairs available. Some guests also mentioned additional facilities like a sauna and steam room, which enhance the overall experience. The location of the hotel, close to La Rochelle and Île de Ré, adds to the appeal, making it a convenient and tranquil spot for families.
However, several issues were reported, such as the pool being unheated and very cold with limited accessibility and early closing hours. Cleanliness seemed inconsistent with mentions of the pool being dirty at times and neglected maintenance. Guests also pointed out nuisances like wasps and hornets around the pool area and inadequate communication about pool closures. Despite these concerns, the positive aspects of the pool and its setting do provide a valuable asset to the hotel, especially when maintained well.
