Hotel Castelo Nacional Inn Campos do Jordão is a serene retreat perched atop beautiful mountains, offering stunning landscapes and lush nature. The tranquil environment makes it an ideal spot for relaxation and getting away from urban stress. Despite being somewhat distant from downtown Capivari, the hotel's elevated location provides breathtaking views and a cozy atmosphere. Proximity to tourist attractions and the picturesque setting enhance the overall charm.
Breakfast at the hotel consistently receives high praise for its exceptional quality, variety and delicious offerings. Guests enjoy the fresh and abundant spread, often opting for breakfast in bed, which adds a layer of luxury.
However, the absence of an on-site restaurant or bar is a notable drawback. Guests need to venture into the city or rely on deliveries for lunch and dinner, which can be inconvenient. Past delights like homemade pizzas are missed and some experiences have been underwhelming, particularly large events like Christmas dinners. The need for more diversified meal options and improved food services is evident.
The rooms, described as spacious and uniquely decorated, enhance the castle-themed experience. Many guests enjoy the rustic decor and picturesque views from their rooms. Nevertheless, improvements are needed in heating, soundproofing and maintenance. Issues such as inadequate room heating, poor sound insulation, dust, moldy smells and outdated fixtures were noted, impacting overall comfort.
Cleanliness receives mixed reviews. While some guests find the rooms well-maintained and the surroundings tidy, others report musty smells, mold and pests. Enhanced housekeeping standards could significantly elevate guest satisfaction.
The staff's outstanding service and attentiveness are consistently highlighted. Guests appreciate the team's friendliness, politeness and dedication to ensuring a comfortable stay. Reception staff, frequently commended for their promptness and helpfulness, contribute significantly to the overall positive experience.
Wi-Fi connectivity is an area needing improvement with many guests citing weak signals and frequent outages, particularly during rain. This can be frustrating for those needing reliable internet access.
Spa facilities generally receive positive feedback for their relaxing and well-maintained services, although some guests encountered issues like non-functioning amenities and occasional neglect in specific areas. Similarly, the gym is seen as basic and under-equipped but still provides a few useful machines for a casual workout.
The heated swimming pools are a highlight, especially appreciated during cooler months. Guests describe the pools as beautiful and relaxing, though occasional maintenance issues and the need for better supervision were noted.
Parking facilities elicit mixed reactions. While ample parking is available, maintaining the parking area more effectively could improve convenience for guests.
Overall, Hotel Castelo Nacional Inn Campos do Jordão offers a charming, uniquely themed stay with excellent service and breakfast, though improvements in dining options, room maintenance and amenities would further enhance the guest experience.
