The hotel is housed in a former monastery, the origins of which are believed to date back to the 6th and 7th centuries. It is easy to distinguish elements of the baroque and romanesque styles and the building has three incredible cloisters: one Romanesque, one Gothic and the third in Renaissance style, where you can spend a peaceful evening in a subdued atmosphere with the soft sounds of religious music as an accompaniment. Its beauty and historical features led the building to be declared a historic-artistic site in 1923.
Initially constructed as a Cistercian monastery in the 12th century, the building where this hotel is housed today accommodated the Cistercian monks, the Benedictine friars later on, until it was turned into a historic hotel by the government of Galicia. Guests can still marvel at the hotel's structure with its stone walls and cloisters, which will make them travel back in time.
The monastery was initially constructed during the 9th century, but the building that exists today was reconstructed in the 17th century, featuring a neoclassical cloister which is now ideal for events.
Located in a monastery, this guesthouse offers a simple and peaceful retreat. The historical setting and serene atmosphere provide a relaxing experience. Its location in Poio offers easy access to local attractions.
