Many have found the bed to be comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep and the rooms surprisingly spacious. Customer service is often highlighted as a positive aspect with the hotel staff receiving praise for their cleanliness and attentiveness. However, the hotel's decor and facilities are a recurring point of concern, often described as dated, shabby and in need of updating. Guests have commented on the old-fashioned overall appearance and the lack of internet in the rooms. While some appreciate the basic yet functional amenities, others feel the hotel does not live up to its three-star rating, suggesting it is more comparable to a one or two-star hotel.

The Hampton by Hilton Sheffield offers a convenient, well-located option in the city center, ideally suited for tourists looking for a standard three-star hotel experience. It boasts clean and comfortable rooms, although some guests found the rooms to be small and lacking in privacy for the bathrooms. The hotel generally provides good value for money, highlighting its reasonable pricing and a decent selection of amenities typical for its rating.
The staff is friendly, but their training and availability could be improved, as reflected in some underwhelming service experiences. The facilities and services are standard for a three-star hotel with breakfast offering no exceptional highlights but meeting basic expectations. However, some guests were unhappy with the room cleanliness and maintenance issues, pointing out that they felt the hotel falls short of what the Hilton brand typically promises.
Parking is noted to be expensive and there were several mentions of the hotel being somewhat tired and shabby in appearance. Despite this, for a three-star accommodation, it is generally considered a fair and acceptable choice that meets the needs of its guests, particularly those prioritizing location and price over luxury and extra touches. Overall, Hampton by Hilton Sheffield is satisfactory for a short stay but may not impress those looking for more upscale amenities and service.
