George Hotel is a great option for travelers seeking a convenient location, friendly staff and comfortable accommodation. The hotel is situated in a beautiful setting with lovely views of the North Tyne River and makes for an ideal base for exploring the local area, especially for history enthusiasts, dog lovers and walkers. While the breakfast experience had mixed results, the hotel is making changes to make up for any shortcomings. The dinner menu had hits and misses, but there were still good restaurant choices and starters and desserts received high praise. The rooms, although a bit dated, are generally clean with comfortable beds and some offer lovely views of the river. Regarding cleanliness, the hotel is generally clean and tidy with some areas needing improvement. However, the hotel's exceptional staff team make a lasting impression on guests with their friendly and helpful nature. The leisure facilities, including the fitness center, pool and spa, received mixed reviews, but guests appreciated having access to a pool after a long day of walking. Lastly, George Hotel is a perfect destination for families, especially those traveling with their furry friends as it is dog friendly.
