Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Auberge Le Semnoz presents itself as a charming retreat nestled in the serene greenery of Saint Jorioz, offering close proximity to Lake Annecy and convenient access to biking and hiking trails. Guests appreciate the hotel's picturesque location, boasting stunning mountain and town views, as well as its tranquil and relaxing environment away from major traffic routes. The warm, welcoming staff consistently receive high praise for their friendliness and availability, contributing to a delightful and inviting atmosphere.
The hotel's breakfast service is well-regarded for its quality and variety, featuring fresh local products like cold cuts, cheeses and homemade jams, making it a hearty start to the day. The dinner experience at the on-site restaurant is highly recommended with guests lauding the homemade dishes, the use of local products and the exceptional quality of the food. Although the breakfast and dinner have minor critiques, the overall dining experience remains a highlight for many visitors.
Cleanliness is a standout feature at Auberge Le Semnoz. Guests frequently note the immaculate condition of the rooms and common areas, appreciating the hotel's high standards of upkeep. While the rooms themselves are clean and the bedding is generally comfortable, some visitors mention that the decor and furnishings are outdated and bathrooms could benefit from renovation.
The inviting outdoor pool offers a pleasant and refreshing escape, particularly during the summer months, although its limited accessibility in terms of hours is noted. Additionally, the hotel provides free parking, which is a convenient amenity for those traveling by car, despite occasional difficulties in securing a spot during busy times.
For families, experiences vary; some enjoy the spacious and clean family rooms and the friendly atmosphere, while others find the accommodations lacking in space and privacy. The hotel does attempt to cater to families by providing individual dishes for children and offering larger apartment upgrades when possible.
Wi-Fi access remains a consistent issue with connectivity primarily available in common areas and often unreliable. While this might be a drawback for guests needing consistent internet access, it does not overshadow the overall positive sentiment toward the hotel.
In summary, Auberge Le Semnoz is celebrated for its serene location, excellent service, cleanliness and exceptional dining. While room updates and improved internet service could enhance the guest experience, the hotel's charm and welcoming atmosphere, combined with its beautiful natural surroundings, make it a highly recommended choice for a relaxing stay near Lake Annecy.
