Nestled amidst lush greenery and enchanting medieval architecture, Castello Cortevecchio offers a captivating retreat that is both romantic and tranquil. Its serene forest location provides stunning views and a calming environment, serving as an excellent base for exploring the cultural attractions of Umbria. Guests consistently praise the warm and welcoming hospitality, notably from staff members such as Luca, which significantly enhances their experience.
The breakfast receives mixed reviews, with many appreciating the variety and abundance of delicious cakes and pastries. While some guests wish for more fresh and savory options, the breakfast is generally viewed as reasonable and satisfying. The accommodations present a charming yet mixed experience, with spacious and welcoming rooms that sometimes show their age. While comfort in the mini-apartments is noted, the bathrooms and certain amenities could benefit from upgrades.
Cleanliness at the castle is a topic of both praise and concern. Many guests commend the excellent cleanliness in some areas, while pointing out the need for better maintenance in others, particularly older rooms and sports facilities. The pool area, an added charm, is loved for its serene setting but also noted for inconsistent maintenance. Despite minor inconveniences, these areas of improvement do not overshadow the overall enchanting atmosphere and allure of the setting.
Limited Wi-Fi encourages guests to unplug and engage more with their surroundings, contributing to an ideal digital detox experience. The combination of professional, friendly staff, a tranquil environment, and stunning historical setting ensures that Castello Cortevecchio remains a memorable destination for those seeking relaxation and a unique travel experience.
